Raid StatsFollow

I am new to raiding so please bear with me. When I am in a raid the raid leader tells certain people how much damage they are doing. How does he get this information? Where do I go to view these type of statistics?

H ei s most likely using a parser, which is a separate software you can run while playing, to see everyones DPS against the mob, the mobs DPS, healing, etc. It's a great way to get info on the mob when learning how to win, to see who is pulling their weight, and to play around with groups, trying to maximize everyones spells, buffs, etc with one another. We use it in our raids and I love it.

Calthine, will running the parser slow my computer performance down? I would like to use it, but not at the expense of the gameplay...

I use ACT, and I notice no reduction in performance at all. I have a higher end machine (custom built, and can provide the stats if requested), but I've never heard anyone complain about a reduction in performance from using ACT, and I know lots of people that use it.
