Achievement pointsFollow

Hi everyone! I have another couple of newbie questions. Everyone was so kind in response to my earlier questions that I'm going to continue asking things I don't know but feel like I should!

1) What are achievement points? Every once in a while I'll notice that one or another of my guildmates has gotten another achievement point. How do I earn these? What are they for? How do I know if I have any?

2) Status points? I see that I'm earning these by gather relics and scrolls etc., but what are they used for?

3) What is "AA"? Sometimes I see people using this acronym in chats, but I have no idea what it is. Can someone please explain?

4) How can I chat with my guild? I know that I type /g for group chat, but can't seem to find the shortcut for guild chat.

5) I'd like to upgrade to a bigger bag/box so that I can sell more items through the broker but I can't seem to figure out how to swap containers. I've tried unlisting everything for sale and taking it all back but I can't figure out how to use a different container. Can this be done?

Thanks in advance!
J.

Achievements are sometimes referred to as AA. To earn them you must be lvl 10 for starters. You can see the ones you can earn by pressing the L button. You earn them by doing quests lvl 10 or above, discovering new areas, killing named npcs, doing collection quests, etc.

To type in your guild you type /gu for guild chat. Status points are earned also by doing special quests called writs. They also can be earned by completing heritage quests. Status is used to purchase cheaper horses as well as some city merchant items (mainly fancy outfits and inn room items). There is a city merchant near the docks in Qeynos harbor and one by the inn within West FP. I don't know where they are in the other cities. Earning Status also helps earn your guild exp. The higher level your guild the better status items you will be able to purchase.

The AA reference is actually a link to the first EQ game. There's a system of Alternate Advancement that is very alike the one in EQII but a heck of a lot huger.

Some hate the fact that AA is used for something that should be called AP (achievement points), not me though, I'm quite used to it.

In theory you just right click the bag and chose the option to remove it from the broker. Then you got an opening to place a different one.

Status points are used to buy faction items from the various merchants in the cities such as the guard, etc. They are also needed to pay for some types of housing.

They can be earned from doing writs for the city factions, heritage quests and mob drops. IMHO writs are the way to go.

Also, with the acheivement points, you can spend them to flesh our your character more with different abilities. Each type of class (scout, fighter, mage, priest) have a tree in which you can advance certain spells you have, or abilities. Then you have a seperate tree specifically made for your class only. When you earn achievement points, you can take these and put points into either tree, making your character stronger, and sometimes even giving you spells you can only use if you go down a certain tree line.

For example, as a monk I am in the fighter class. In the fighter tree line, I spent my points down two lines and recieved the abilities Chi, and Crane Flock. One spell makes my cast time and refresher insanely fast so I can use my combat arts much more quickly in a fight, and the other enables me to double attack 100% of the attack while it is up, and allows me to hit any mob within melee range.

In my specific class tree, monk, I spent points down to superior parry which allows me to ward off one hit, be it physical or magical.

Question on AP's. Right now it says I can spend 50 on pre ranger stuff, and 50 on ranger stuff. Yet today in guild I saw someone with 135 achievement points. Do you get to spend more points at higher levels?

Yes, i believe that when you get to level 71, the AA total goes to 140, 70 in each.

They changed it with the release of Kunark. As soon as you hit 70, you get access to 40 extra AP's. Nothing else changes, you spend those points equally in both trees. (basically boosting each tree to 70 instead of 50)
