Delay vs Attack SpeedFollow

I have never understood the difference. If the delay on your weapon is 3 and your attack speed is 20 does that make your overall attack speed 17 or what? How is this all defined?

Well, you personalyl are capable of attacking at a certain rate. Lets take sword motions. You can move your arm up and down in a chop off the bad guy's head motion 20 times per minute. Your sword ont he other hand is sooooo frigging huge that it slows you down to swing it. that is your weapons delay. the bigger the weapon delay numer, the slower you attack. I think.

Ok, if no one can answer my previous question let me ask this: How do you calculate when (the time) to stop using spells/combat arts, in order to let your auto-attack launch? The way I understand it, if you keep casting and casting you will never attack with your weapon. I am trying to maximize my DPS, and there has to be a smarter way than just watching your toon or the script.

I always eyeballed it lol. But I'm a troubador, I actually do better damage singing at it and swinging in between.

Do you happen to know this....If you have a 5 sec weapon delay and you cast right before you were supposed to swing, do you have to wait another 5 sec to auto-attack, or will it auto-attack as soon as you are done casting?

Nope, no clue. You might try your class forums over on the Official EQ2 Forums. Maybe someone there knows.

I think the auto-attack time is pretty short, so will fire between your spells. Certainly if my zerker is using his long bow while I am completely spamming the spell buttons, the bow still fires every 7 seconds. I can only presume that melee is the same.
