Hey all, I know this is an opinion post, but after searching and searching the Alla forums I haven't come down with anything except "all classes can solo, just some better". So I'm coming from EQ1 and love my Mage and Wizzy I solo a lot, basically all I do and I want a class that can solo very efficiently all the way to top level. I thought about a Necro, but can you snare kite in EQ2? In your opinion, what is(are) the best caster(s) solo-er and why? Thanks! :)
There is no snare kiting in eq2 because snare spells generally dispel when you damage the mobs (well they have like a 30% to dispell every time mob receives damage). Also if you run too far away the mobs give up on you and instantly go to 100% health and back to their spawn point. The way Necro's and conjurers generally fight mobs is to allow their tank pet to tank while they do damage.
If you like playing Mage you would probably like conjurer. conjurer is basically a mage. You get dots, 3 types of pets (scout, caster, tank), and a handful of buffs. Necro is like a conjurer only necro spells are disease based where conjurer spells are magic and fire (I think).
I don't know much about Wizards in regards to how well they solo. Every class in the game can solo for exp though. There are solo mobs and heroic mobs in the game. Heroic mobs are meant for groups where solo mobs are meant to solo. So you don't have to worry about making a toon that will sit for hours LFG doing nothing.

Wizards solo great. Prolly one of the fastest in the game. You get two root spells. Cast them both and let fly. I've soloed ^^^ two levels higher than me and ^^^ named same level, or maybe one level higher.
What this requires is Adept III or master roots. Cause if the root breaks, usually you are dead in one or two hits. So while I can solo more than your average class, i have a VERY high death count.
