I have a question about transmuting since the RoK expansion came out. I've noticed that the price of fragments has risen by 10,000% since ROK came out on my server. (Literally from 2cp each to like 20gp each in some cases), but as far as I can tell the mechanics did not get changed. You still create an adornment when the first bar of crafting fills up (out of 4), and getting a pristine is not required, like it is in other crafts post RoK.
I'm just curious as to what caused such a drastic change and demand/price for the common material of transmuting?

People being optimistic, probably.
With transmuting it's possible to skillup on grey combines. So T8 opened up, and everyone was looking for cheap skillups to hit their cap. Demand goes up, prices go up. You'll see the fluxes happen in raws too, when a new Tier opens of something changes. Wait it out, they'll come back down when demad drops off.

What I keep thinking is for like 10 plat I could have filed my bank and house vault with stacks of 50 fragments and made like 1000% profit after the expansion if I had only known it would go up so much! Ah well, Hind sight being 20/20 and all that.

Heh, speculating on the market before a big change or expansion is definitely a hobby for some folks! Many folks were complaining their sales were off before RoK, and it was probably people saving money for T8.
