TD gear is simply nuts...Follow

Parked my 76 pally for a bit and started a berzerker. At first, I just wanted to start in Qeynos and the island, but after playing a few minutes and realizing that the "gear" on the island was vastly outdated, I re-rolled. Getting a chest piece with +2 str was exciting 3 years ago, but hardly today.

Deleted that toon and started the same guy only this time in the new Timouous Deep section. Not big on "evil" toons but what the heck. At level 19 I have 1.5k hps and 800 mana. I believe he has close to 140 str and 120 Stamina. He almost has a full set of cool looking armor (lost the chest piece somewhere...).

A comparable toon stats with Antonica gear would be roughly 2/3rds that...

In other words, why the heck would anyone re-visit the old islands, or even Darkwood for that matter???

Darklight quests are still exp and AP. They are fun to do maybe?

agree. i have a couple pieces with incombat health and power regen. the weapon i got from a quests level 18 is better than anything i can find on the broker for level 20.

unfortunatly, just like EQ1, doing this without revamping the equipment in the other starting areas just makes them.....empty. i started doing the shadowknight class armor quest in freeport, the first three pieces i got were ALMOST as good as the peices i was wearing from the starting quests in TD. one of the bracers i got from a quest as 10str and 9sta and 28 health. my level 33 pali dosnt even have something that good yet, and the SK is only 21.

the one upping guarentees people will play in the new areas, but it makes the other areas in the game pretty much a ghoste town. they should go back with each expansion and revamp the old gear to make them comparable. otherwise, why would anyone waste their time camping the froglok wizard for a SMR when a bonecaster robe can be bought for 10 plat? if they want people to play in those areas, they should atleast make the outdated stuff common drops, even the most rares. give people a reason to go back.

there really powerful, small chest items completely dwarf anything i have on my qeynos guy, hopefully once the hype of kunark settles down a bit, theyll do some revamps on the old areas, or else anybody who can will start in TD.

Yes, but the trade-off is that they are stuck with the awful sarnak models for the life of their characters. Joke's on them.

You don't have to be a sarnak to do the quests. I have been doing the TD quests with my Dark Elf.
