Reinstalling the game,Follow

#1 Dec 14 2007 at 2:54 PM Rating: Decent
due to a new computer tomorrow, is there any way to avoid the lengthy downloads? Someone know if it would be useful to copy the installed game as I have it now and simply put it on the new harddrive?

I'll probably try that though, the game now is about 10gb, can't hurt to try I guess.

I copied over all the pak and music files from beta to my live folder and on release day patching took me less than 2 hours. Should work the same way for you.

I wouldn't think it would be too bad if you installed it from the kunark cd? That is of course if you actually bought the boxed version (which was just as cheap as the Digital Download).

Hehe, haven't bought a box version since KOS. It's always faster imo to buy it online, although that's probably just imaginary.

Well, took me an hour to get online alone, this might get ugly!

(I forgot that apart from simply adding the proper proxy data, which should be enough, it is always advisable to reboot the modem too! For once I'm grateful for Windows as they ultimately offered this suggestion themselves)

26 hours downloadtimer so far. Promising!

Lol, the download estimator is notorious for being wrong. I do, however, advise that if you see it hang on one file and the time start to climb, stop and restart.

I've got worse now, it won't continue! It gets stuck on a particular small file, downloads it but cancels the download when it tries to decompress it.

Very frustrating, to say the least. Restarting doesn't help at all.
