New to EQ2Follow

Hi guys. I was playing WoW for the last 2 years got bored of it and decided to try EQ2. I ordered the game and all expansions and waiting for them to arrive. Meanwhile i did read a bit about the game and i think i ll make a swashbuckler class as my first char.
My question is is it good class for grouping and raiding? Are swashbucklers wanted or is it hard to find a group or a spot in a raid?
Also ill be playing on EU server. Can you please suggest me one that is busy enough and is english speaking?
