so here i am after being talked into playing EQ2 ... 7-8 year vet EQ1 3 odd years on WOW give or take .... anyway so i am going to play EQ2 now with a few friends but i haven't a clue what i am looking at and i can't find a site that jsut has plain class and race information like the basics ... rather than a skill list that i get on Alla or a pretty paragraph about them from the EQ2 site ... am i just retarded ? ....

The fact is that race and starting stats matter much less than they do in EQ1. There are racial traits that are handy but no huge leg up (and I need to apologize here, because a lot of racial traits changed with Kunark and we haven't quite caught up yet).

The biggest restriction in the races is starting city, and you can always betray if you really want to be a Freeportian High Elf, lol.

Welcome to Norrath, er, the Norrath of the future! I came from EQ1 myself, and I'm enjoying Eq2 a lot.
