That's right. I've decided to chronicle my journey through the new expansion for your personal entertainment.

Why I go out of my way to give you people MORE things to laugh at me about, I'll never know.

Guess I just love you guys that much!

my experiences were a bit differant.

really enjoyed the graphics on the sarnak. nice work. really liked the starting island, although a bit colorless, but then, it is realism they were after i guess, and in that context, they did a good job. adding height dimemsions did make the otherwise small area feel alot bigger, and more interesting.

doing the quests, i couldnt help but feel i was playing LOTR again. very linier. each set got you to a certain level, then moved you to the next area, which did the same and moved you along. after 7 or 8 levels, you felt no affiliation with the starting area at all.

no sence of "home" i guess is what im trying to get at. the city/cave is more of a launching point into the rest of the game than a rest point or "home". once you get to it, its forgotten unless your doing trade skills, which i dont particularly find.....fun.....in any game.

the quest rewards and items were a notch above the iksar stuff which was a notch above the content before it. by the time i hit the city/cave, i had just about all my slots filled. all the armor slots anyway. got a couple weapon upgrades too. the experience to this point was rewarding, but again, felt very linier, like LOTR.

over all, i liked it. was certainly worth the purchase price and entertainig for a while. sadly, i still lothe the fighting. way too much button smashing that makes you spend way too much time looking at your spell bar instead of the fighting. EQ2 makes the bard in EQ1 look easy. atleast the bard just had 3 buttons to smach in a sequinece, but having 20 plus buttons to smash at any given time depending on whats happening is.....tedious. but i guess the OCD types need something to do while feeding their desease.

so, im done. was fun, time to go untill the nex expansion. would have liked to see what they did with kunark, but not bad enough to grind out 70 levels with some of the most tedious action i have seen in any game. see ya next time. AOC and WoW expansion up next in a few months. gona check out whats new with D&D online, vanguard, and mabe another tourn through memory lane in EQ1 untill then.

nice work. the sarnaks are what the iksar should have been in EQ1.

That's a shame because they are very worth the effort!

Well, imo naturally.

The new zones are much better than the KoS areas, more enjoyable and there's a lot more to do.

they might be, but again, the fighting is very tedious to me. i think D&D online did the best job i have seen in any game for action as far as im concerned. EQ2 is a differant style, and i understand they were trying to get away from "park in front of mob, hit a, wait till one of you dies" type game play, and they did. but it just doesnt work for me, thats all.

and i mentioned the starting area is very linier like LOTR, but i also think the starting area and the first 20 levels in just the sarnak starting area are far far better than LOTRs entire game. they did do a great job. the new area is also less group dependant than even the iksar starting area. i can see they are slowly moving to a more casual type gaming experience, and it will work for them the more they travel down that path.

they are slowly getting to where the market is for online games.

its a shame EQ1 doesnt revamp their 300 plus zones for the same type of game play too. they could blow WoW out of the water if they did. will be interesting to see where they take Vanguard.

over all, nice work. but i just cant stomach the fighting style in EQ2 for any length of time. certainly not 60 plus levels.
