Yippee!

I look forward to now using all my power to kill an even level solo mob with my pally, insted of just 75%!

Meh. I wasn't really using the treasured loots anyhow due to the stats. I can see how this could irritate some folk though.

I could have swore I posted a long rant about this, I guess I didn't hit the post button (it happens). Anyways this is bull crap. Bad enough Kunark mobs are 3X harder then previous expansion mobs. It seems like this should have been taken care of in Beta. If they want to nerf the gear they should nerf the power of the solo mobs as well then.

Last night I moved onto Fens to start knocking out some quests. I had to kill 15 thingamajigs for one quest and 9 widgets for another quest. The mobs were right near the zone line and were fairly close together and Non-Aggro.

It took me 45-55 seconds to kill one mob. Then an additional 20-30 seconds to regenerate enough power to move onto the next one. That's 1-1/2 minutes per mob. So for 35-40 minutes of work, I was able to turn in two quests for 2% exp each and I earned about 1% exp for killing 25 mobs. So 5% exp for 40 minutes of work.

In summary:

Pallys suck.

ROK mobs need to be nerfed.

I suck.

When the game was released, I started with a pally myself, mostly because I enjoyed playing one in EQ. I swiftly gave up, at about lvl 22, because of it being rather a slow soloer. At that time, things were a lot worse than now, I can guarantee you that. At least now you can beat the mobs of your own lvl or close to it, back then I had problems in Thundering Steppes mostly because the mobs there were almost all heroic or close to that. (they've seriously altered that, it would seem they are coming back on that decision, even if only a bit)

My Monk however has little problems, finished a couple of quests yesterday for which I had to kill Tuskers, Sabretooths and Cockatrices at about one or two levels below my own. With my heal, tsunami, crane and my devastating fists, I can pretty much continue fighting without much pause; I do occasionally harvest a node, which gives me a bit of a breather. Ofcourse, I do have a feign death when things go bad, that's a big back-up.

But in a whole, you are correct that due to the rather tough mobs and low xp yields, it can be slow to level. There are loads of quests though, xp definitely will come, at leas the advancement xp is still very good.

I was disappointed to find out that this is only going to effect the T8 treasured items. The T2 drops need a lot of adjusting too as they are far more powerful than the best MC gear. 90% of my inventory is collecting dust right now and I used to sell out weekly if not more frequently. :(

Let me correct my statement on pallys...

Pallys suck as soloers.

Pallys are great in groups! We can hold aggro as good as any tank. Give a wizzy Amends and I just taunt while the wizzy nukes the hell out of it.

I just need to get over it. I don't have the time to level another toon up to 80 and use as my main. And I keep holding out that one day SoE will update the Pally class....

You must of missed Domino's post where she spend the 4-day Thanksgiving weekend doing a pass on ALL MC armor. She swears it's not a nerf, and says to watch Test and expect to see it GU41.

Whereupon I asked about MC Weapons, and she said not before Christmas.

It's funny you think Pallys suck as soloers, because I think SKs are one of the best soloers. 45-55 seconds isn't that bad considering many other classes would fight for 90 then die.

I have a level 72 armourer. I have sold very little through the broker, and only do a little commission work. Why? Because the broker is awash with treasured drops that have better stats than the mastercrafted stuff I can make. The main appeal of M/C stuff was the ability to imbue it ... which was nerfed. I hope the "pass on ALL MC armor" is to make it a little more attractive. At the moment my armourer is a cash sink. It would be nice if he could make a little money for a change. At least he's now earning some reasonable guild xp on grinding timed writs.

I'm just glad I don't have a weaponsmith
