I know this has been discussed in other topics, however last night really ticked me off. I didn't realize just how difficult Kunark mobs are for there level till last night. Was finishing up some old writs in KOS (Bonemire). Level 70 solo mobs in Bonemire probably didn't take even half as much effort as a lvl 68 solo mob in kunark. In fact I can fairly easily solo a lvl 68^^^ (heroic)mob in Bonemire but I can't hardly kill a lvl 71^(solo) mob in Kunark. Despite the fact my pet has 5 points in the pet taunt AA (which I use all the time) I still pull aggression from Kunark mobs CONSTANTLY! I was actually able to tank lvl 70^ solo mobs in Bonemire as a necro while my pet would take on another, however if a lvl 68 kunark mob agresses me I can expect to be dead in about 5 hits.

Just seems kinda ridiculous. Granted Kunark quests are giving excellent gear, the mobs themselves are not dropping anything to balance the risk vs reward (at least the solo that is). I actually came across a guardian in Kunark lvl 67 and he asked for my help because he couldn't solo the solo quests in Kunark. OF course since SOE decided to make people fight over the loots on most of the solo Kunark quests he probably couldn't find many people interested as its human nature to not want to share with strangers. However I had all ready did them and still could use some of the mobs for the Writs and helped him.

I guess I shouldn't complain though. If SOE heard about this they would just nerf necros probably and I would be begging for help with solo quests. As of posting this I am 69 for anybody wondering. So in conclusion it seems a lvl 68heroic mob in older expansions is easier then lvl 71 solo mobs in Kunark. Chances are you can expect a lvl 68 named to have better loot and give better exp then a lvl 71 solo mob in kunark as well? Should really considering toning down the difficult on Kunark mobs.

Not hard from my limited experience, just require you to step it up a notch.

I am sporting legendaries and fabled gear, can usually kill stuff and it takes a supreme goof on my part to die. In RoK I found things picked up a bit but were still easy, till I hit the Giants. They were melting my face, however I figured it out. Range pull, debuff, stun (not long enough for vanish) dot table, root, range and dead all with me only taking 15% damage.

If I had tried my usual stealth attack, debuff, stun, stealth, backstab, dots, wavegoodbye I would have died, in fact I almost died 4 times that way before I changed it up.

Yeah, I have to say I'm liking the new "oomph" the mobs have with RoK. I'm used to being able to "lazy solo". Engage, cast a few spells to debuff or gets things started, then walk away and let then dots and auto-attack do their thing. With RoK I actually have to pay attention and /fight/. Winning is a lot more satisfying now.

I found that same i.e. that you may need to change your tactics to suit the way the mob fights. I ran at drachnids quite a bit at first and usually ended up eating dirt, until I realised the enthrallers and hunters will happily stand off you & attack with distance spells & mezzes. My bow does a lot more damage than their spells can, plus I can still shoot while mezzed/stunned/rooted. It just takes more time and I have to keep my quiver stocked up! At least it's got my ranged attack skill maxed out now, plus got a lot of repeatable writs done.

I agree with fronglo though. RoK mobs are MUCH tougher than KoS or EoF
