What is the population like?Follow

I've recently been thinking about getting EQ2 and would like to know what the population is like. How many people are on during peak hours? Are there always a good amount of players on or do the servers go dead during certain time periods? Are all the servers populated or are some full while others are dead?

SOE doesn't release population statistics. I hear Antonia Bayle is very highly populated, and I don't think any server is a ghost town.

Late at night it can be difficult to find people on (as on say 2 am EST). Otherwise there are plenty of people playing.

And you can still get a group at that time if you're persistent. (That's 10pm my time.)

Stay off of Antonia Bayle. Seriously. If you want RP I hear Lucan is pretty cozy. I also hear good things about Unrest and Najena. But stay off of AB. We've got plenty of folk, thanks.

I can only speak for the PvP servers. Venekor, where I reside, has a lower population compared to Nagafen (sp?) but that is actually preferred by residents of both servers. Nag is a 24/7 non stop PvP server for those that enjoy it. Venekor is a more casual, laid back PvP server. PvP is easy to be found but, not forced down your throat every time you step foot outside the city gates.

Venekor is labled RP.. however much like the PvE servers, its not enforced and as a result we have plenty of people running around with untasteful names and guild names. And, every once in a while you'll even run in to an anti-RP who is easily put on ignore.

Pardon me if PvP isn't your style.. but I wanted to stick it out there for people who may stumble upon this thread at a later date who might be interested in PvP. :)
