I note that responses steer clear of class and AA tree recommendations. I have a necro and the AA tree is straightforward, one page. My dirge has 3 pages of trees. I know the AA system is new and all, but... aren't there articles or guides on different trees for different playing styles? In WOW, there's a ton of info on their AA trees.

I stay away from it because I never learned the whole system, lol. I also solo, so I select my trees differently than a lot of people.

That's kind of the point of sharing how the choices worked out. Some people solo and some group. There is different gameplay within each class. It helps make choices when you can relate to others style of play.

EQ2Flames tend to have long, long discussions on AA tress under the respective class forums. I mainly solo, so tend to choose differently than a raider would.

I still think a berserker should not be cowering behind a buckler, which the zerker STA line is based around. If you're a tank using a shield, use a SHIELD. If not, chuck it away & use 2-hander/dual-wield ...... and breathe. /rant_over

I thought they removed the item requirements for AA's a few patches ago.

They removed the MELEE WEAPON requirements. shield and ranged weapon requirements stood as before. but if an AA line required the use of a weapon type (i.e. sword, axe, dagger, staff, etc.) that was removed.

I'm hoping they extend the relaxation of requirements to all items. From a semi role-playing point of view, a tank with a buckler is just not an option, so it's not a line I'm going to bother with right now. In fact, I just forked out a couple of points to finish off the AGI line & grab the 'Dragoon' prefix.
