Hey, I am thinking of starting up EQ 2 and i was wondering if I am "too late" persay meaning that they are not many new people joining or players in lower level zones. I started EQ aabout 7 years after it came out and it got very boring very fast becasue they was nobody to play with. I am looking into playing this but was wondering if i would run into a similar situation becasue if so I would be more likely to try Lord of the Rings Online or Vangaurd

Thanks in advance,

Nah, there's still lots of people just starting or long time players rolling new toons. The expansion launching tomorrow features a new race, which guarantees lots of people to play with!

Ok good because I thought that EQ was a great game, but the lack of people was a real turnoff.

Rise of kunark has all expansions + all adventure packs in it for only $40 and with the current playerbase EQ2 has I think its one of the best times to start playing =)

Every expansion brings a flood of players back. A lot of people will be starting new sarnaks, a lot will have characters they abandoned for other MMOs. The next 2 months are likely to see more new/low level characters starting than ever.

Plus of course there will be a whole lot of high level players racing to cap again who may be only too pleased to mentor to help fill up the extra 40 AA points with new low level named kills.

As an Alt-oholic I can honestly say there's never a bad time to start over. With 12 toons, at least one in every teir at all times, I never have problems finding people to play with.

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the info!

The fact that the new expansion is coming out sounds like a great reason to start playing, and i hope to do so sometime really soon preferably a little after thanksgiving.
