When I run the patcher, it performs a file scan as it should, however as soon as it begins the file download it cancels and will not download. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program and have been unable to find any info on this particular problem. Not sure if it is important or not but this is installed on a HP DV9500 laptop with Turion 64 dual core 1.9 ghz processors and 2 gig of ram. I thought perhaps it was the processors but I installed it on a second laptop with Turion 64 dual core 1.8 Ghz processors and have no problems. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Are you running Vista? If so, you need to run EQ2 as Administrator. something about right-clicking the icon....

That fixed it.. Thanks so much! Now my girlfriend will quit harrassing me! 8)
had a similar problem with XP. it would download the patch only so far, then show download complete, but it wasnt.
had to restart the update patch several times untill it finally got all of the patch. still happy. SOE doesnt have a stellar reputation for being able to launch a game or expansion with out issues and many of them.
that could also be the reason i was the lone sarnak on blackburrow for a few hours. was awsome. the first time i actually completed 3 collection quests before leaving the noobie area. little question marks everywhere and no one to get them but me.
relax. its usually toward the end of the second week after a launch before they get it running smoothly. and they will. eventually.
