/pet rangedFollow

Hi -

I am just getting into EQ2 - its a great game.

I have a question about pet control. I am currently a 25 Illusionist and use a twin as pet. I try to have it set to "/pet ranged" at all times but it seems like the pet forgets every once in a while and goes in to melee. Sometimes the pet follows the /pet ranged rule for a good ten minutes, other times it goes into melee immediately and repeatedly. Is there a surefire way to control the pet and keep it at ranged distance? Right now I just call it off, hit /pet ranged macro, and have it attack again. This seems to work about 50% of the time.

Any mods, macros, etc. that make the pet stay at ranged 100% of the time?

Thanks

Ill have to test this with my necro's caster pet...but I would think that /pet backoff, /pet ranged, macro would do the trick. Hopefully though this is indeed a fluke and can be fixed if enough people bug it or make a fuss on the official boards.
