Kithicor has been locked all day. So I played on Bazaar for 3 hours then it went down. STation gives no clue as to reason.

probably have alot of content to add for the new expansion. will probably be alot more down time to come too. toss in the ineviatable crashes at launch, emergancy patches, and patches to fix the emergancy patches, you can expect your typical SOE expansion caos for the next couple weeks.

or has it been so long since the last expansion that you have already forgotten?

dont hate the messenger. you know its true.

There's some problems with some servers, about an hour ago Gnobrin announced they were doing a game-wide restart. Please hold.

I didn't have a single problem with the last expansion. Downloading was fast and limited to only one big download. Yes, the game will be down for a bit because, let's just be honest, these things never go all smoothly and it's a big change. I recall another game in which it took me two days to even get online to play because of very stupid planning on their part, and it wasn't Sony.

Yeah, EOF was an incredibly smooth rollout.

I have to toss in on the rollout issues... DoF appeared smooth, then again, I didn't buy it until about 2 weeks after it's release as I was re-levelling a toon and wasn't really in the mood to spend more $$ (long drama with SOE that I lost but still feel I got a raw deal on, but what's done is done)

KoS was a NIGHTMARE. Server crashes game lag and I didn't even have the expansion yet. It was pretty rough, but seemed to smooth out after the first couple of days. Working in IT, I know that you can't prepare for EVERYTHING, so some tweaking is necessary...

BUT. Faydwer... SMOOTH. I can't help but think it had something to do with the fact that by release date most of the content was already downloaded to our systems. I'm sure there were SOME issues, but honestly, nothing sticks out.

Here's hoping RoK will be the same!

What we have to consider is this; no matter how much testing you do, each server is not identical, so there's bound to be variables no one thought of.

I'm hoping that some some of the optional downloads start soon. Otherwise the patch times will be humungous come release day. I haven't noticed any RoK downloads yet. I probably won't start playing new expansion until Thursday anyway, as too many RL quests to turn in. Always best to write off patch day for playing.
