There's been a recent shift in focus from hard release dates to focus on polish in the gaming industry.

I share, briefly, cause it is Monday morning, my thoughts on the matter! Enjoy and get some more caffeine in you!

It is true though, while it is easy to get upset at the release of a game being delayed, I would much much rather play a finished game than a half finished one.

Sylar from Heroes-

After obtaining the ability to become a Human Thermonuclear bomb, he lights up his hands while observing the city, and quietly mutters to himself, "Boom."

very true. i'd rather wait a few months if necessary than to have them release something that isn't the quality that i know they're capable of producing.

And you can sure see the difference between DoF and more recent work! Night and day.

Coming from EQ1 I think SOE has done decent work on the expansions. OF course almost every expansion in the past 2 or 3 years has been pitiful for the EQ1 IMO. I think with eq1 they release one every 6 months and you can tell.

I really didn't care much for DOF, but that is mainly because I just didn't like the dull desert theme the entire expansion had. I also found most of the groupable content had pitiful loot compared to old world and newer expansions. Seriously I have done several instances within POF and SS and I have seen 1 master chest and everything else has been treasured. All in all it was just boring.

I used to not like KOS, but now that I have a character above lvl 60 I find myself using it quite abit. Its abit of a pain to get around from island to island, but the loot is fair and there seems to be a handful of decent areas that Pick up groups use.

EOF is great. Just so many places to go and so much to do. I loved Klakanon and COI, Mines of Meldrath actually had somewhat of a scripted even that is neat. Alot of fun quests to do in Steamfont, and I can't wait to see Unrest.
