As you can see from my sig I play FFXI, but I have been interested in EQ2 ever since I heard about it. Been hesitant about getting it but I finally let my guard down and put in an pre-order for the new expansion.
I played WoW and FFXI, the latter being most time spent in so I am not going to ask what class/race are best. I am mostly leaning towards a kerra char.(hopefully I can use the name Pabst o.o;)
I am going to d/l the trial demo until my brand new game arrives. Just saying a hiya to all and hopefully see some of you guys in the game.

try blackburrow server. i came back for the expansion to see what they did with kunark myself. but i have toons on several differant servers, and blackburrow seems to have a more populated low and mid level game than the rest of them. still not real populated, but certainly better than the rest.
looking foward to the sarnak myself. although i dont know how they are going to twist their story into making them a good race as opposed to evil. its like allowing orcs to roam freely in qeynos.
just have to go with the flow i guess.

They aren't a good race, shadowrealm, most recent news (Fan Faire) has them evil, "in a different way".

Be warned that when you download the trial you're downloading the whole game; I'd set it up to download while I slept, if I were you. But it's well worth the wait.

Kunark does make for as good of a time as any to start the game since it includes the adventure packs as well as all the expansions. Far as what the best class to play it that is a hard question to answer. It would be easier if you said what you wanted to do then we might be able to suggest what the best class for you is? There is really no best class. It is funny to listen to the lvl 60 to 69 chat though as there is always somebody sturing people up with "This class sucks" "Oh yea well this class is the best" "With such and such gear/buff I can out DPS you" etc etc.

you will love eq2!! I am also a past ff11 player and I say eq2 is a lot funner :D I like the whole way the game plays better. lol
If you join Unrest, you can join me and my guild, I just started less than a week ago and have low toons. The highest I have now is a 17 defiler. kerra of course and it's a tough but good class so far.
