Faction statusFollow

#1 Oct 29 2007 at 11:02 AM Rating: Decent
I raised my faction status with "The Far Seas Trading Company" to ally and looked around but couldnt actually find what this means or how it helps, I saw on comments for the guides of what factions there are that the factions have vendors that sell certain items, where are they? what do they sell? anyone know of a good or good forum post they can point me to?

Thanks!

Its the city factions you need. There are 5 each in Freeport, Qeynos and Kelethin. Four are adventure and one is tradeskill. Only 2 in Neriak though.

What happens is they give you writs and for each one you complete you get 150 status. Once you get to 10,000 you can start using the faction merchant.

Here is a link to the various factions.

If you think 150 faction rise per writ isn't much, well, you'ld be correct. It takes some dedication to get to ally and the more interesting items they sell.

Yep, if you want the items you are going to have to work at it. On the plus side every writ increases the level off your guild(slightly) and give you personal status which is needed if you want to move into a bigger house.

Currently allied to:-

Academy of Arcane Science
Freeport Militia
Seafury Buccaneers
Tunarian Alliance
Qeynos Guard
Concordium
Celestial Watch
City of Neriak

We really need a couple food faction reward guides! In the meantime, here's my favorite "Where did that wool house item come from???" site: http://www.everseek.com/

Still unsure on this faction though (The Far Seas Trading Company), I raised my status with them to ally but what exactly does this do for me? Is there a vendor somewhere that I can buy things that I couldnt buy before? Do I have access to anything new or anything special that wasn't the same as before I was an ally with them.. I guess what I'm saying is whats the point in being an ally to the far seas trading?

There's no benefit that I'm aware of. Faction isn't as important in EQ2 as in EQ1. Maybe in the future.

Currently there is no benefit to having positive faction with the Far Seas Trading Company.

As you go through the game you will discover that you will gain (or lose) faction with various groups. Having positive faction with some groups stops you being "Kill on Sight" with them, other groups give out quests if you positive faction.

Currently the best groups to have faction with are the city ones as you can gain access to their merchants.

Gaining faction with either the "Hand of Marr" or the "Brotherhood of Night" in Nektulos forest gives you access to the merchants in the camp who have items which are not sold anywhere else.

If you would like a title to display after your name, raise your faction with either the Nybright family, the Drednever Expedition or the Ashen order(or disciples)and a few more.

For a title before your name, doing guild writs for the city factions is the way to go, sadly they make you pay for them.
