tinkering crisisFollow

I have a level 61 carpenter who can make everything pristine, that is until I chose tinkering yesterday as a secondary skill :( I scribed the first tinkering recipe than attempted to make some furniture at the saw.

Now when I try to do any carpentry all the tinkering tools go of whether I have them in the toolbar or not! They are depleting all my power. I almost cried when nothing can come out pristine anymore! Why is this happening? When I press the carpentry tools they should be the only tools that light up but all four tinkering tools light up and suck the power. I need advise fast please help me.
thank you,
Payyne

That's very strange, they should stay greyed out (unavailable) when they can't be used. My first thought is that you're bugged, mostly because it's not possible for all four tinkering arts to go off at once. I would do a thorough file check from the launch pad.

I started tinkering last night and I was experiencing a similar problem. Whenever I started to craft, immediately after starting, one or both of the progress buffs would automatically start. It didn't affect my success at tinkering, gosh it seams easy, but I was concerned that the buffs were running automatically.

I was seeing the icons in the hot bar grey out AND I was seeing the icon(s) show up in the active effects window (what ever it's called).

I didn't make any armor last night, so I can't speak to the cross-over, but I did indeed think that something strange was happening. Maybe there's a bug.

If you had an art running when you finished a round it will be there when you start the next... but that doesn't explain the crossover thing.

Best thing you can do is reproduce it, lots, then submit a /bug with *precise* instructions for reproducing it. That helps QA push it to the devs.

Calthine that's a good point about the cuing. I'm not sure if that was indeed what I was experiencing but it is quite possible. I'll try it again tonight and see if I can reproduce the problem. I'm also curious about the cross-over that Payyne was referring to so I'll check that as well.

And then /bug it if indeed I can reproduce the same problem.

Thanks for the insight

I don't have a tinkerer, but I'm gonna try it with my transmuter next time I'm on.

I logged last night specifically to try to repeat the unwanted "auto-buff" that I was experiencing...I couldn't make it happen. Everything was working exactly as I have experienced it previously...IE buffs that got pre-cued on one round faded out before I could start another round.

Additionally I made a few pc's of armor while watching the hot keys for the work bench and all of the buff's (for the work bench) were greyed out (unavailable) as they should. Sorry Payyne!
