Good morning, AllaK's - 10/24/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

A week until Halloween. Good times.

Had obligations last night and when those were over I was distracted by darts and TF2. So, in lieu of a game update - a discussion question for the class:

Why did you choose the class that you chose as your main? Did you identify with the feel of the class? Were you emulating a favorite character from a story you love? Did you make your choice from a purely practical standpoint (guild needed X, I wanted a solo'er, etc.)?

I chose Shadowknight originally in the early days of EQ because my pal who got me into playing was a paladin and I thought it would be an amusing juxtapose to have the two of us running around duo'ing together. The class sort of stuck and over the years I've grown an affinity for it.

How about you, and how was your evening?

Hiya Stu and all :)

I had a fun evening. Logged on to find a guild group needing a healer...so logged in my Inquisie. We recently have had more than enough healers for our raids, so I took advantage to spec him for a little more DPS. I had a blast running through instances and trying to push his parse (we had 2 healers and a good group, so that made it smooth sailing). It was quite amusing parsing in over 1000 regularly and tearing aggro like mad. Took a noticeable hit to spell/heal cast time and ability, but holy cow...what a melee beast. Fun fun lol.

Things have been good...and busy. Been raiding a lot, and having a blast. Took down a few encounters for the first time with my up and coming crew, always exciting when ya just squeak by. Geared up a bit more on my SK, and upgraded my Dirge a bit too. Worked a bit on my Dirge and Inquisie AAs....still need 23 and 27 respectively for them. I'll be pushing that a bit coming up.

The guild has been going great too. Always expanding....lotsa great new folks, and a few new classes that I had thought were a myth until recently :)

Also had the guildsite revamped (and I like the new board look once ya log in), and am in the middle of a contest for a new splash page for it. Can't wait to see the entries. People were tired of seeing my ugly mug every time they logged in ;)

...as far as why I played my toon. I originally played an Inquis....but when we first formed the guild, we were short a tank. I decided to fill the role and picked an SK (since it seemed to suit my character hehe). Never looked back, I loooved the class from day 1. I eventually ran up my Inquis as the guild needed one...and I enjoy him a lot as well. Later, I ran up a Dirge...as the guild needed one too. He's fun, and convenient....easy to play and multitask on him (call joust, coordinate fights). I enjoy playing him when I feel kinda lazy lol. Those are my 3 mains anyway. My horde of underlings are all a blast too...mostly ones the guild could use, but always ones that appealed to me inately anyway.

I've never considered any of my gals a "main". All of them are, in one way or another. I enjoy the variety of playing many classes. The game is different with each one of them.

Logged on my fury, finished a tradeskill writ for guild status, then headed off to EL to knock off a few quests and lo and behold ding 38. Harvested a little bit, no rares, couple of glimmers. Called it a night.

My main is my wiz, played a wiz in EQ, and just carried over into EQ2, mostly cause I like to blow things up, my favorite spell in EQ was ice comet, massive damage and the effort to get the spell.

I actually had a paladin when I started but right about when EOF came out I grouped with a really good SK in Klakanon and asked him some questions about SK's and the abilities they got and decided to betray. It was a pain but I haven't regretted it once.(well maybe last Labs raid when I saw 3 Pally Set pieces drop..-shrugs-) I hear alot of SK jokes but I like how my class p[lays and tinkering with it can makwe you great DPS or a great tank.
