SERVER ISSUES: 10/21/07 9:40ESTFollow

Just in case you haven't seen it on the 'official' EQ2 forums.
There appears to be a problem going on atm with people trying to log into EQ2. They are getting 'timeouts' and 'invalid password' errors. This issue also appears to extend to EQ1 and Vanguard. I know it for a fact with EQ1 and EQ2 as well as the SOE forums.
It appears to have something to do with the registration servers, as multiple account holders are able to sign in on their other accounts, just not the first one they chose to use today. I've tested this (I have 2 accounts) and sure enough, my main cannot sign in, but my secondary can. Both have the same passowrd, just rearranged and EXACTLY the same billing information.

The problem here is that SOE Tech Services aren't open today... hopefully there's a tech wandering around the building though and will spot it.

Thanks for taking the time out to post this for the folks who may not have read the EQ2 forums. I'm doubly frustrated by this myself because it prevents me posting my sheer disgust at Sony on their boards for their terrible CS. No doubt this log in bug prevents me cancelling my subscription as well.

In their defense, at least as far as the US Servers are concerned, it's only 7am on the West Coast, so they may not yet be aware there is a problem.

what REALLY irks me is that if they DID have someone working support, they'd have it under control by now.

I understand not wanting to have a full staff on weekends, but it might not be a bad idea to get at least a skeleton (or zombie LOL) crew on the weekends.

Of course, what's REALLY annoying is the network status page...

'All Servers Are Up' ... you might as well say

'All Servers Are Up... You just can't reach them. neener neener neener :P'

ah well... hopefully someone will catch this and get it resolved.

The forums are down now. I'm guessing the sheer number of all SOE players unable to log in has caused them to crash.

Well, maybe if the server crashes someone will get a page or something...

The log-in issues started last night, at least for me. About 10:30 Central time, so a little over 12 hours ago.

Well, as soon as they're back up I'm cancelling my sub and probably returning to FFXI or another game. I avoided SOE like the plague after their CS in EQ and after four months of this kind of thing, namely Friday EU primetime downtime and lost days gaming, I'm more than a little angry at myself for giving them another chance and more of my money.

From what I've heard online, you might not be the only one. It always surprises people that I have only good experiences with Sony CS on EQII, not so with EQI but I always felt they improved.

This is not going to do them any good.

Thank you one and all for posting on this forum -- we had begun to believe that our accounts had been hijacked.

now THAT'S interesting... I signed on around 6-7 EST this morning with my main and had no problem. It wasn't until after that for me...

I'm sorry your experience has been bad so far. Mine has been a mixed bag. I still have resentment from an issue prior to DoF, but that's just me being a stubborn prick. For the most part, I've found SOE to be pretty responsive. But hopefully, if nothing else, they'll take a lesson from this and have at least 2 or 3 people working on nights/weekends.

I can get to the Station.com forums but I can't login. Sounds like their login server threw up.

edit: I'd be slacking if I didn't invite everyone to the EQ2 Zam IRC chat...
