Hey all,

I used to be an eq1 guy way back when and I have to admit I loved the game except for a few aspects of course. The inability to solo anything and the ridiculous amount of time it took to gain health and mana back. I do love to group, its what makes the game fun for me but it was just too much in eq1 while lfg I'd like to be able to do something. Anyway i moved to WoW much later after i quit eq1 and was thrilled, no downtown you can solo the leveling isn't amazingly slow. I'm still playing wow at the moment but i'm thinking of going over to eq2, i'm getting frustrated with WoW. I have a 70 shaman, 38 priest and a 30 druid. The shaman is fun but my servers extremely low horde pop makes it hard to do anything. The druid and the priest i just cant stand long enough to bring the up to 70. It seems like theres nothing to do before 70, seriously its just a mad grind to get there and its just so boring i cant do it again. I like the original eq and i might give eq2 a try. I just want to know if the game is interesting and fun all the way from 1 to level cap, i seriously do not want to play another game where its mindless mob chopping over and over and over till lvl cap. I like meeting people and grouping which was awesome in eq1, but i also dont want to be stuck doing nothing if i cant get one.

You might like EQ2. EQ2 is a sort of middle-ground between EQ and WoW. It's not nearly as hardcore as EQ, but it isn't quite as easy as WoW. Levelling is swift for the first couple tiers and will slow down as you get higher. Every class can solo to the level cap if they feel like it, with varying degrees of efficiency. There is solo, group and raid content at every tier and thousands of quests. You're rarely at a loss for something to do. Fortunately you don't have to take anyone's word as there is a free trial you can go download to get a feel for the game yourself.

Eq1 now has an out of combat regen similar to eq2 now. AFter you are out of combat for 30 seconds you start regening hp/mana like crazy. Within about 2-3 minutes you can go from 0 to 100% once that out of combat regen kicks in. If your not all ready a solo class it still don't really help much, but if you are it makes it a little easier.

Far as eq2 goes I am 58 now and there was VERY few times I killed anything that wasn't for some sort of a quest. The few times I did was when I would group a dungeon and hunt down named for AAexp and loot. I also can't stand the mindless grinding unless I have something to look forward to besides the exp gain.

I lost interest in eq1 for about the same reason you did. Was sick of sitting in POK begging for a group. Honestly eq1 is nothing more then a playground for the hardcore gamers IMO. IF your not level 75 with 1k aa's and in a good guild nobody wants to mess with you usually.
