possible newbie questions and alot of them =PFollow

hi i have a bunch of q's and comparisons that id like have answered, if possible. to start off il say ive played EQOA(ps2) for around 3-4 months. shifted to FFXI(ps2thenx360) and quit a few months ago making it round 2+ yrs of gameplay. i just got a new comp for my room and wanna play a new fun game. im looking for somthing that has more group play, solo aint always fun but there should always be that option.FFXI was a bit too reliant on group play. next i love a good verity of classes, and of course a friendly community (unlike mabey wow's 80% d-bag community) i love lots of endgame content. FFXI probly put way more focus on that and the whole NM-HNM-GOD thing was tons of fun. well heres my main Q's 1)can i even run this decently?[2.6AMD pross/2g ram/128deticated-623 shared nvivda geforce 6150 i belive] 2)is the community still well alive? and what is the best normal(rp i think) server w/ alot of newbies. 3) i played redmage and bard in my other 2 games so i was thinking between trubdor/dirge/warlock. any seggestions and whats more wanted in groups? 4)whats engame like? i wanna have a reason to stay after i max. 5)anyone have a decent guild i can join right off, i like to yack about random stuff like tv/games/life in general.

finnaly how would u compare this to FFXI (pros and cons) and im still deciding between this andvanguard saga of heroes. based on what ive listed what do u think is better/whats the major diffrences?. thanks for all your help, looking forward to possibly hangin w/ some of yah soon. peace

Try this FAQ: http://eq2.allakhazam.com/wiki/EQ2:New_Players_FAQ

And you don't have to take anyone's word for it: there's free trials!

We have an expansion coming in mid-November, it's exciting times :)

it seems like id barely be able to run vanguard. i was leaning twords that a tad more for the fact its group grinding heaveyer and the fact that its not 3 yrs in already. but i think for the fact that i can run this pefectly "as of trial standrds" il probly start this. gunna buy the 10$ basic box and start get going, then get the expansion box in november w/ all the expansions built in. u think that seems like a plan? lol

Well one of the highest population RP servers is Antonia Bayle, Thats the server I play on, I have a guild open to anyone, its a lvl 30 guild called Knights, but it always seems as if i'm alone haha
I could use some company in it..
Anyways, that should answer your server/guild questions..

Your comp seems good enough to run the game though I do suggest getting a video card update, I just recently bought the 7600 GS, and I can play the game very high with little or no lag =)

As for the classes go and such, pick anything you enjoy to play, all classes are accepted to a group, so you should play something you like other than something YOU HAVE TO play..
So with all that said, if you decide to go to Antonia Bayle server, send me a tell

Shuyinn

Just gonna throw my 2 cents in as well on the server side of things... Antonia Bayle is great. Most of my toons are on Butcherblock, but I have 2 RP toons on AB (1 in Qeynos, 1 in Neriak) and I have great times on either one. I'm seriously contemplating shelling out the $$ to move my main over from BB...

ffxi.....just plain sucks. the whole japna thing is just way too over done. men who look more like women. women who look more like children. and what with all that 10 foot tall swords thing? ***** envy?

didnt like guildwars for the same reason. too much japna.

i like male characters to look like males. ogres, orcs, barbarians, dwarfs. like the little butterflies in EQ2, a male toon that looks better than the female toons is just........gay.

and i like women to look like......they will hurt you. like the barbarian women in EQ1. not like little children.

but thats just me.

If you're looking for RP and want a little added excitement, Venekor is RP/PvP. Takes the game out of "Easy Mode" and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The way MMOs were originally designed to be played. ^^

Spydie's a little biased toward PvP, I'd mention.
