Good morning, AllaK's - 10/11/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Well The Orange Box was released yesterday. I'm not sure I need to say much else than that. I spent the evening playing around with Portal and rockin' out on TF2.

So in lieu of a game update, a discussion question for the class: You get the chance to be King (or Queen) of SOE for the day. You have the opportunity to mandate a single, solitary change to EQ2. It can be as simple as, "I want Antonia to be a blonde" or as complex as "combinations of spells cast concurrently can create new effects (like queuing up say Siphon Life while casting disease cloud will result in a disease DoT that also lifetaps over time)".

Myself, I would halt the ability to betray of any naturally good or naturally evil class. Individual RP flexibility aside, it really starts testing my suspension of disbelief. Like...ok. In some rare, silly instance there may be a dark elf or ogre born who has some deep philosophical conflicts with their race. I get it. And sure, there could be a riveting story about his or her escape from his homeland without being killed. Maybe they'll be accepted by the good city and work their way past the prejudices of the people and become assimilated into their culture and become a force for good. Great. But this should be a rare, RARE case. Certain races are evil or good by nature and while there can be anomalies as I just described, for the most part they stick to their guns regarding their views on the world. Yet as it stands now I can do a lap around norrath and find, for example, as many ogre, troll, dark elf and iksar paladins as I can dwarf or high elf! At this point they might as well stop designating races as good or evil since apparently half of the children born to evil races end up running off to become paladins or hippy tree-huggers anyway!

What do you think? What would your change be? And how was your evening?

I really don't know if i'd change a thing. I really LOVE this game. What i would like to change (increase) is the amount of time i HAVE to play =)

The addition of persistent raid zones means my causual raid guild will be able to delve even deeper into zones like Emerald Halls, which is awsome.

I like the balance of the classes, the robustness of the abilities. I do like the idea of stacking or mixing spells/CAs for additional benifits. I think this was kinda the idea behind the Heroic Opps. I do think SOE should take a look at the HOs and beef them up a little. There doesn't seem to be the push to complete them (outside of soloing in my experience) that there used to be.

I am also dreading the upcomming lvl cap increase. I've been painstakingly pushing my defiler up towards 70 and i think i'll get her there just as the cap is raised to 80. UGG

But i understand this is a personal issue and there are MANY people waiting for tougher mobs/zones and new gear.

I guess i'd like to see somemonitoring of broker sales. The capitolist inside me says "Free market economy! Price is deturmined by what the market will bear. The Law of Supply and Demand cannot be altered!" But the poor toon in me just wants Ice Nova or Fusion master for less than 80 plat. =)

Hmm, so my frog betraying to Freeport, then head back to Qeynos, then heads off to Kelethin and heads back to Qeynos again, doesn't make much sense I suppose?

Smiley: grin

If I were King of SOE, I'ld create a triple version of Unrest, equal to Nektopolis Castle.

One at about lvl 30 and a much higher version after finishing it the first time round and doing one or two other quests.

Kind of involving the zone in different level ranges.
