can i run this ok-potential player/laptop ownerFollow

i might be buying a laptop this week mostly for collage. i played 2yrs of ffxi and a few months of eq1 on ps2/360. i need a new mmo and eq was awsome, and this seems like it will be fun. the laptop i want has an AMDx2 1.9gz pros 1g ram and a radion x1200 g card, so can it runt it decently smooth. its specs are on bestbuy-550$, id give the link but im typing on a wii lol. btw are the RP servers populated and have a decent amount of low lvls? also is anyone know of a good guild that takes in new peeps? ty for all ur help -zanfire

The video card would be the only thing that concerns me. I haven't used a ATI card in a long time. If im not mistaken some Radion cards are good while others are basically just junk that use shared memory. Chances are if your buying a cheaper laptop it is one of the cheaper cards that uses shared memory. It might work but your settings will have to be turned way down. I know a friend of mine once ran the game on a PC with a athlon 1700 and 512 megs of ram. His video card was a PCI geforce 2 with 32 megs of ram. He couldn't run through town very well and when in a group it bogged down to the point it was just about unplayable. Of course the rest of his PC was really pretty bad as well. Your best bet is download the trial after you get the laptop and see how it runs.

Far as RP servers go I really can't tell you much about them. I tried one of those servers in eq1 and I couldn't stand the ogres talking like babies. People really got TOO much into it for my taste.
