If I log in before the login servers go down will I stay logged in?

Anyone think this will work?

This will not work. ALL SOE Servers are going down. This includes all web servers except front pages, all patch/login/game servers for every SOE game, and any other customer service / community servers they have online.

Approx 3:15 to blackout. The reminder posted tonight on the Official Forums:

Quote:
Beginning at 11:30 p.m. PDT on Monday, September 24th, all SOE services will be unavailable so that we can perform significant upgrades to our authentication and account management systems.

Currently we expect this maintenance to take approximately 14 hours. But as first indicated, it could extend to as long as 24. Customer service, chat and support will also be unavailable at this time. Phone support will still be accessible. SOE websites will indeed be inaccessible at that time but there shall be an automatic site redirect that will be continually updated throughout the day as to the progress of the maintenance.

We apologize for this interruption, however when service is resumed you will have an enhanced user experience to manage your accounts at Station.com.

And there it goes! SPLAT!

If you hit any SOE URL you get a Station.com message that has Extended Downtime Updates in seven languages. 11:39 PM Pacific, I see:

As of 7 am cst or cdt or whatever stupid time we're on, there is no change in the status message.

Grimwell will be hitting the scene in a little while, so expect updates.

Howdy folks!

So far, so good. Remember that right now no news is good news!

We are still more than a few hours away from the ETA and while I don't intend to update the official information page yet, I will let you candidly know that the teams working on this are not in a panic, and I think my desk is in the wrong building... so I'm going to have to wander off in search of free breakfast. :)

Not sure if it is posted any where else, but why is SoE down?

It's not posted anywhere we can see atm the moment. Grimwell said they're doing a huge back end thing that goes across the whole system. It's supposed to integrate a bunch of stuff with the Station.com and be the first step in getting us ready for Launchpad. 2.0.

Edit: I just woke up, but the message is the same as when I went to bed last night :) We're about.... 9 hours into the maintenance.

People have reported they can get into Character Select but servers are locked.

NEWS! 10:53am Pacific:

Quote:

Updated at 10:36 am PDT on 9/25/07

While we had certainly hoped to complete the upgrade operations within a fourteen hour window, things can change fast in an operation of this scale. Our current estimates are that the game servers will come back up at approximately 2:00 PM PDT, and all SOE websites will return by approximately 5:00 PM PDT.

We will update this page hourly to keep you fully informed of our progress, and would like to thank you for your patience during the upgrades.

Customer service, chat and support will also be unavailable at this time. Phone support will still be accessible.

Does this have anything to do with the Raid LAg issue they talked about, or is that another update?

What happened to that hourly updating :-P
I'm sure they meant to. But maybe hourly doesn't mean once an hour to some people.

Splitpaw (one of the Euro servers) is playing up too. Can't login, even though the server itself is up.

Newest update---

Updated at 5:16pm PDT on 9/25/07

All game servers are up and available for play with the exception of EverQuest Online Adventures. The team is actively working on squaring away the last details necessary to clear out before EQOA is brought back into service.

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone for their patience during the account maintenance upgrade today.
