Who here plays it?

What has changed since the game was released? Worth trying for a month? Give me some details.

I never got into the EQ games. I think one of my Older Cousins played EQ1 for awhile when I'd come over we'd play Old Tribes and EQ.

I play EQII, although I haven't logged on in a week since I enrolled in some classes. If you played it at release, it's a totally different game now. Instead of starting off as just a fighter, scout, priest or mage archetype and then branching off at different levels you now begin as whatever class you want to play. Outside zones are now solo-friednly, with less heroic mobs and less linked encounters, although social mobs still remain. Combat is still sort of frantic button-mashing.

Definitely worth trying, and all things considered probably the best MMO on the market right now. The game looks great, it's polished, has lots of depth and good story-lines, housing, an involved crafting and harvesting system, mentoring...the list sort of goes on and on. Let me know if you decide to pick it up so I can direct you to a server other than the one we play on.

Friday is pay day, so I most likely will be picking up the full regular game to try it out for 30 days.

I downloaded the demo, Play the Fae, and am not impressed with that class, but I notice I am running at about 30-40fps at about high performance so my computer can handle EQ. I will make a thread on Friday after installation.

Huh? That's just a race, you can still play any class. Hell, after you make your Fae toon make another one and you can even try out all the races along with Qeynos and Freeport.

Oh, and my PC runs the game at 50-60fps on Ultra-Awesome graphics. You know, the setting where it says something along the lines of: "Some systems may die if you turn all this **** on! Are you sure you want to do this homie?"
