So, lately me and my guild are starting to group to do some high lvl instances. Last time we did Mistmoore Catacombs (only died about four times, three of those times about my fault) but this time we went in the HoF.

We would be my 70 monk, a 70 warden, 69 troubadour and a 69 shadowknight. And things went very well, we died the first time as I did a bad pull and got the first named we encountered along with another group. Not a good idea, in the confusion we dropped pretty rapidly.

But the second time we cleared that room and moved on. (the one with Raluvh)

It's a pretty zone, albeit repetitive.

Then we moved on, clearing our way slowly but steadily (I pulled and I have always been a slow puller, it's instinct really, which doesn't really make me all that suited for the job, had some arguments about that when I was still playing EQ). The next room and something odd happened, a lvl 69 named actually dropped us all, and we didn't get him as an add or anything, he just wiped the floor with us. Vimock did go down the second time, but he does a lot of damage for his lvl and not being a boss. (that makes death no. 2)

We enter the Dracotarium and first clear the circle to avoid all adds before taking down the lvl 70 named. (Jin-Tiz the Cataloguer) He went down in almost half the time of Vimock btw, still find that very odd.

Then ofcourse I mess up and wake up that lvl 71 named on the table, first the troubadour drops and the rest follow quickly (well, I did anyway, others evac'd). Second run he dies swiftly.

Funny thing about all the dragonwhelps in a following room, there are three groups of about 10 or so lvl 69 triple arrow down heroics. We actually skipped them at first, then decided to take them as they might be doable and drop a good chest. Ofcourse, after killing the first group in about 5 seconds, the other two followed swiftly.

Then we hit the big one, Sotish. We're going to have to go back to get him, it was just near impossible to take him down and get rid of the adds. Sothis himself is nothing, he'ld drop soon enough, but the constant flow of lvl 70^^^ animated mobs was always too much. The first time we didn't even know that Sothis would call them, although we did suspect it. Second and third try got us closer but we just couldn't do it. We tried to pull Sothis up, giving us more time before the mummies got to us, but to no avail. One more member in our group and we might have made it though, it's fairly close.

Fun times, although I still wonder about the room after the first staircase, what's with all the dragons you can't target? Why can I inspect those torches?

Meh, we're going back in there soon, with five of us, see if we get more lucky with Sothis. And hopefully get as many masters as we did now.

Oh yeah, anyone know if a group of five lvl 70's could go in Unrest and be expected to live long? None of us have raid equipment, mostly master lvl and good non-raid equipment.

Unrest is not a raid zone :)

Not a raid zone indeed, but as I hear it still the toughest non-raid zone in the game at this moment.

We'll try anyway, mostly to get the cloaks, it might work out better as I think, HoF was an instance I didn't expect us to do so good in too.

Just did Halls of Fate last night to help Solah get up to date with her MOA quest and ding to 70. Vimock has debilitate, I believe, which basically brings down your mitigation to negative numbers if you have aggro, hence why he is hard to kill. You have to have a cure for it. I think its magic, but Im not 100% sure on that. With Jin-Tiz, you dont need to worry about clearing all the mobs around the circle. They wont add. All you have to worry about is having the tank have his back to the wall ad he does have a big knockback. Sothis is basically a burn fest. The longer he is up, the more youre going to get adds. Its all about CC and getting him down as fast as you can. Before you aggro him, on the sides of the room, look for Volitile bottles. Each person can pick one up. Hot button it and use it on Sothis. It should bring him down a couple % per bottle.

A group of lvl 70s can easily do Unrest but it will take you a long time. The zone is basically a giant puzzle. With us in raid gear and knowing the puzzles, it still takes us 2-2.5 hours from beginning to end. I believe they will be making this a progressive zone very soon.

Aha, thanks for clearing up a few things! And we never really thought of using those potions on Sothis, we got him down to 25% but if one of us had concentrated on getting the potions and continuously use those on him, might just have made it!

I read the guide on the link Calthine gave, looks like a very interesting zone Unrest. We'll definitely have to try that one out!

No no no, don't waste them on Sothis . Take turns using them on the statue/golem adds. Those potions nuke the adds in one hit.

or do it both ways. We also try and grab one before we leave for when we have raids. Named mobs that take forever to get down go down just a little easier when you hvae those potions on hand Smiley: grin

Glad you had fun in there :)

Vimock can give a nice AOE blast as well, if the troub has Bladedance he can negate it. Between the monk, Sk and troub you could probably keep him stunned/interrupted/knocked for 90% of that fight if you take turns as well.

With a 4 group, pulling Sothis all the way back to the stairs is usually enough to burn him down before the adds come (usually only 2 come)...if not, ya the potions could burn em swiftly...or just have the warden root/troub mez if you you're almost doen by the time they show up. If you pull with the SK using abominable wrath...break the root/stun with deathmarch....running him all the way back to the stairs is not a problem.

Unrest is doable with 4 if you are very careful, and have a lot of time. With a full strong group that knows the zone and is burning hard...it usually takes about 1 h 45min - 2.5 hours. With a group that doesn't know its way around (the order of events to progress) and is not very strong (or perhaps short a few toons)....it can take 4 and even 5 hours hehe. So give yourself lots of time if first time in and going in short.

Also, Nizara, and even arguably Nek 3, are both more difficult zones than Unrest. Have you tried them out? Fun ones too :)
