I have characters out of Freeport, one of which I would like to have learn transmuting. I have the Faydwr expansion. I think the only two locations to learn transmuting is the Butcherblock Mountains (dock) & Kelethin in Faydark. I am level 23, don't know how to get to either of these areas from the Commonlands, and I think they're hostile to Freeport anyway. How are Freeport characters expected to learn transmuting. All it requires is level 10 tradeskill. Is there any way to get through the Faydark/ Butcherblock without getting slaughtered at lower level?

You can get training at the Butcherblock docks, which is neutral.

- Save up 60s
- Buy a ticket to Nektulos Forest or Thundering Steppes from the Harbormaster (in East Freeport, as I recall).
- Take the bell to Nek or TS.
- Go to the end of the dock and wait for the next boat. Speak to the Harbormaster, he'll tell you where it is in it's journey. This boat is free.
- Take the boat to Butcherblock Docks.
- Get your training (remember to also buy your Arts).
- Call home.
