It came up at Fan Faire at the Into the Future Panel. Here's an excerpt from that report:
Quote:

7. Character skeleton revamp: this is still ongoing in the background. We are starting to see results in game, like human males having access to SOGA hairstyles, and the Sarnak use the new system. This project will be ongoing until it is right.

SOE just can't satisfy themselves on skeleton models. I mean honestly how many times did they revamp the skeleton models in eq1?

Only twice, right? Original models, Luclin, and once recently. I saw screenies of the recent models, they were disappointing.

I think the Skeletons was redone 3 times. Once with Luclin, then with Lost Dungeons, and then a somewhat more recent one?

I don't really understand what they mean by "skeleton" update..

I mean I read the thing about more access to hairs and such, but why do they call it a "skeleton" update.

To any of you who answer thanks a lot =).

Skeletons means the underlying frame of the characters, not what you see. what we have at are three basic body sizes (halfling, human, troll) on two different models (regular and alternate).

Apparently it makes things complicated ont he Development side, especially for the Art Department.
