Hello fellow mmoers! My name's Loch Hewitt, but my username is Jacksquat2. Before the release of our new website, www.colorzoo.cjb.net, we'd like to announce that we are nearly 60% complete with our upcoming MMORPG, Red X. My partner, Rick "Buster" Young (aka XxGothiChristxX) is the the lead artist, designer, and programmer, and I take control of mo-cap, audio programming/sound design, music production, and promotions. We've kept the project completely secret up until now due to the mammoth load of the work required for this extremely ambitious game.

Before I proceed, a bit of history of COLORzoo Studio. I was born in 1973, and served as an intern for OCEAN where I helped work on one of the first 3d shooters, RoboCop 3. After working with OCEAN, I helped TheSoftwareLabs with their program, "Power2play" and helped games such as "Sango Fighter" and others get a solid showing in America. By 1999, I found myself unemployed after the decline of shareware. I formed COLORzoo Studio in 2002 after I met Buster while working as a custodian at Devry University. Buster, when he comes here, will describe his own deep history in the industry

Red X is an MMORPG with an original concept never seen before. The name is a play off of "Red Cross" and takes the exciting world of MMORPGs into the nation's hospitals.

Each server run by our team will consist of its own hospital. One server will be an urban hospital, one will be suburban, and the other will be a military hospital.

Instead of elves and orcs, the player can choose between a host of classes:
Doctor
Specialized Surgeon (Over 7 types including plastic surgeon)
Nurse
Asistant nurse/doctor
Receptionist
Patient
Paramedic
EMT
Volunteer

The engine was designed from the ground up, and is multi layered with different types of gameplay. While the character development for each player is definitely RPG related, each class has its own unique gameplay style. For example, we designed the surgeon gameplay mechanics to be very similar to the board game "Operation." Each injury the player creates for the patient detracts experience points. This is a new concept to the genre, each player starts at the MAXIMUM allowed level, but is detracted with each mistake. The concept is applied to all classes in their respected different gameplay mechanic.

Also, on my behalf, the game will take a revolutionary step in the musical and sound direction. The game's soundtrack is heavily inspired by 1970s avant grade jazz music reminiscent of Chic Corea and Miles Davis. We chose jazz, because the game changes frequently in all aspects, and this fits jazz constant changes of melody and rhythm. With help from our local hospital, we've managed to record extremely realistic voice-overs from actual doctors and hospital staff members along with sounds reminiscent of actual hospital rooms including the ER.

We will release screenshots and music tracks in due time either here or on our upcoming website.
