Ok guys well as of now I can already run the game high-very high with little or no lag.

I have an Nvidia Geforce 7600 GS, and one Gig of ram, most people suggest getting another gig of ram.

They all say it will help, but I just don't know HOW it helps.
If anyone can enlighten me on ram usage and such I will be very grateful.

It helps because RAM is accessed faster than direct physical storage. Think of RAM as the staging area for what your system is about to do. Processes are called up from the drives and lower level memory and held in RAM for quick or frequent access. The more RAM you have the more processes are able to be "pre-staged" and thus are "at the ready". The result is much improved efficiency and speed of execution.

Mine's old, rebuilt and rebuilt again. I'm about due for an all new system, as I can't run PCI-e cards, which means sysboard, which means processor, probably memory, and probably a new box since this is an old ATX case, lol.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 2.01 GHz
1.5GB of DDR 266
GEForce 6600 (that I just ordered a new cooling fan for, this one is dying and I'm starting to see a lot of CPU load)

Couple of 80GB HDDs, not RAID.

As I recall we got this configuration as upgrades to run EQ2; we can never afford the bleeding edge of computer tech, pretty much we're always a generation back. The video card's been replaced once.

Having another gig of ram would likely really improve game performance. Additionally I bet your Cas Latency is clocked at 3.0 in your bios. This can easy be over-clocked to 2.5 with no consequence and will improve performance some.

MY upgraded PC has

amd64X2 4800+
2 gig 800megahertz DDR2 ram
geforce 8600gts w 512 ddr3 ram

Memory will help loading times. I once was told that if your game is lagging and you see your HD move alot that its a sign of not enough memory. Really if you want to run this game in any kind of high setting you prob should have 2 gig of ram.

I run game is best performance and other then laggy broker areas or raids I am ok. I usually in certain areas turn it down to 1 step above balance when in a full group.

My PC is getting a bit old now. Still trying to persuade the wife I need an upgrade.

Pentium 4 2.24GHz, mildly overclocked
1GB RAM (max m/b can take!)
nVidia 6800GS PCI graphics (factory overclocked)
120GB IBM 'DeathStar' hdd

... and yes, it IS slow to zone

My Vas latency was set to "default" with 3.5, 3.0, and 2.5 as options. SO I set it at 2.5. I seem to have a little less video lag, although I probably should have run thru QHarbor to check.

Now, can you explain to me in non-geek words of two syllables or less what Cas Latency is?

Mine is a P4 2.8Ghz with 2GB RAM. I've got 3 hard drives of varying sizes. Onboard Intel Graphics, a NVIDIA card and an ATI card. SoundBlaster XFi. Hilariously enough, I bought the NVIDIA and SoundBlaster because 'Vanguard' told me to. After playing 10 minutes and deciding I'd rather stick with EQ2, I now have kick tail sound in game and decent effects (not to mention a tri-monitor setup) the Hard Drives are a 40GB and a 120GB (the 120 is partitioned for different uses) all in all, it's a decent setup, gets the job done. Oh, and XP Pro my next box will probably be LINUX since Vista makes me throw up in my mouth just a little... :(
