Good Morning, AllaK's - 8/22/2007Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Not a ton to tell today. Logged in my main and check broker sales. Made a whopping 8g in sales. A couple days ago I sold a pre-made xegonite weapon for 85g so that made me feel good as those sell at the rate of once every couple months or so. Dropped some gear I had acquired off on the shared bank for my alts.

Logged in my coercer to pick up one such piece of gear from the shared bank. Called home. This was a problem, you see, as I moved this toon to Neriak. I don't know if it's just me and my machine or if it's Antonia Bayle in general or just the zone, but during most of the day Neriak is so laggy that it's damn near unplayable. Having 80 people crammed into the crafting tunnel means that you run the risk of lagging our every time you get anywhere near it, let alone try to take an action. Well stupid me has his bind point down there, right next to the banker. So the whole affair went something like this:

- Cast call of Neriak.
- Get up to go make a sammich.
- Come back and look at "Loading UI Resources" progress bar.
- Go get a drink.
- Let the dog out.
- Come back to watch "Adding character to zone" progress bar.
- Finish sammich.
- Let dog back in.
- Sit down to finally watch zoning screen fade away.
- Open bank menu.
- Grab item from bank and begin to drag to inventory.
- Lag out to character select.
- Log back in, watch loading screens for several minutes again.
- Open bank menu.
- Grab item from bank and begin to drag to inventory.
- Lag out to character select.
- Log back in, watch loading screens for several minutes again.
(Ed: No, this isn't deja vu. Happened twice in a row)
- Open bank, grab item, miraculously drag it successfully to inventory.
- Spend 15 minutes running out of the tunnel, hit the docks and port to Nektulos Dock. Vow never to return to Neriak until I upgrade my RAM or SOE does something about spreading out the concentration of people in that zone.

How was your evening?

Continued my second revival to EQ2 (day 2!) with continuing to level my new shadowknight. Still trying to figure out what to sell when and how to level tradeskilling myself so that I can manage to get Adepts and gear so I can actually solo, hehe. Abot to download the full expansion version from D2D here in a few minutes (thanks Calthine!). OVerall wasn't bad, got to level 14 and level 11 armorer without buying any mats so far off broker.

Got on for a bit and flipped through my crafters. My weaponsmith is the only one who's not 70, so I did a few combines on her. I must be really rusty; I know the Arts are different between classes, but I had a positively miserable time getting pristine. So, seeing she was low on ore I sent Kiana out harvesting T6.

There's lots of complaining about the recent tweaks to harvesting and rare rates, and I tell you, I'm just not seeing it. Except that imbues seem a bit scarce. The node spawns were well distributed, very little scarcity. The ore-to-loam and metal-to-gem rates were about even, and the new tweaks to dens gave me almost 3:1 pelts to meats.

Anyway, I'm seriously debating respecing my weaponsmith. It's not because of the market, lack of salables or use of rares, it's because for some reason she bores me to death.

On the Zam side, I added a bunch of mobs and stuff for The Throne of New Tunaria (yay, friends who link me stuff!). Some of that gear is really, really nice! And there seems to be two- and three- piece class-based jewelry sets that are cool enough to make me want to level and raid, lol.

Meanwhile, more db work, making spaghetti sauce from the plethora of tomatoes from the garden, doing laundry, and assembling a new lamp for the boys' room. Normal day :)

I am having a terrible time with my weaponsmith, as well. All my other crafters are fine, but she fights(and loses) for each pristine! Anyone else have this problem with weaponsmith since the last GU?

Haha on me -

On further investigation I hadn't picked up my T6 Arts. My skill slipped below it's cap.

It's the one thing I give advice on the most over on the Official Forums. Freeking classic :)
