Well, actually they call the whole thing "The Zam Network" so it's actually more like an awkward, ill-conceived attempted at making a hip, with-it nickname that was going to catch-on with the youngins.
Or something of that nature.

You know what it really is? When I type Allakhazam or any shortened version I always try and put the H in the wrong place. So really, it's just me being lazy :)
But yeah, I like the whole "Zam Network" thing. I mean, have you seen our network sites? Did you know EQ2Maps is part of our network? And MMO Interface? And OGR? It's just too cool.
And it sounds like an old Batman sound effect. BAM! POW! ZAM!

That's what I thought of when I heard about the name for the first time. The old-school Batman & Robin television series where they'd stop the action with a screen splash of "POW!" coupled with some jazz trombone and trumpet sound.
I'm sooooo lonely in that channel. Come on, people.
