Call me shallow, but as a monk, I get disgruntled at the fact that almost every piece of armor I can wear makes me look like everyone else, wrapped up in full leather, adorned with spikes. If Im going to play a monk I want to look like one. So I have always drooled over the elusive Gis. I had one back in the 40's and wore it until it was way below my level, just because I was loathe to give it up. And as I raid, I really can not give up stats for looks, however much I want to. So when I heard that Unrest carried a Gi I could use, I was ecstatic!

I was able to get a chance to go last night, and after one of the smoothest groups ever, in just 2 hours we had come to the end. Garanel went down without any issues, and my heart soared as I saw, he had dropped my Gi(Wu's Fighting Shirt). I immediately put it on and just sat there grinning like a fool for about 2 minutes. That with my Bo of Flowing Blood, I finally look like the Monk I am. And I also have 3 pieces of the Wu set, so I get the first tier of bonus. Yay!

I got extremely lucky last night as the Battleworn Canteen dropped (Charm for +18 str) and also a wonderful tanking ring, Jagged Band of the Cursed (28 STA, 80 health, 518 vs col/div/mag/ment/hea, 148 vs slash/pierce/crush, +5 Defence). I went to bed last night blissfully happy.

So here's a screenshot of what the Wu's Fighting Shirt looks like:

closer look at my hawtness. Thanks Wu!

Gratz! The Wu's set is hot. I wish they would adjust the leather look for monks in general though, so that you could have the option to wear either depending on your tastes and your stat needs without looking like a bulky ranger.

I'm still trying to put together the Kyle Bayle set for crusaders. So far I've only managed to get my hands on the shoulders. Maybe the new set-drop loot rules they put into place will help me.

I have had the exact same experience with my bruiser. I took over an hour setting up her appearance to maximize hawtness, only to wind up wearing the no stat first clothing piece when i started for WAY too long.

As soon as i heard about the new crafted armor in DFC (back when it came out) i made a beeline to lvl 40 tailor lvl 37 adventurer and had some buddies mentor me and take me there to crafte the sweet armour.

I'm sure i'll be wearing that lvl 37 chestpiece long after it is grey pending another gi drop.

Thanks guys. I've still been grinning all day. Silly, but this is one of those things that was a major goal for me.

Z, totally off topic, but I just saw that you are posting from Antwerp. The Mr's band toured Belgium and were on a radio show in Antwerp a few years ago, and I remember a funny thing about you folks. Anytime we said it as Antwerp, we'd immediately get the comment "You mean Antwerpen?" So we thought we were saying it wrong. But then anytime we would say Antwerpen we would instantly get "You mean Antwerp?"

!!!!! WHICH ONE IS IT????? !!!!!!

We loved Belgium, but thought Antwerpiens were odd due to this one little factor.

I have to admit, I'm from Bruges originally. So I do not share any genetics or upbringing with the locals here Smiley: smile

It's Antwerpen, but that's Antwerp in English. If they got corrected saying either, it's most likely just because they got overeager Antwerp citizens. They are indeed rather odd at times, truly on a different level compared to the rest of Belgium. Mind you, best place to go out (not dancings or clubs but 'regular' pubs and bars) or find all sorts of great restaurants.

"But what do I know about diamonds?"

"Don't they come from Antwerp?"
