bad karm in Maj'DulFollow

#1 Jul 30 2007 at 3:01 PM Rating: Decent
You know I just happily collected all those quests in the Sinking Sands and started zipping through them without thinking of the faction hits. Now when I go into Maj'Dul I am chased by mobs of angry citizens. Is there anyway that I can fix my faction with all of the courts while maintaining any good factions I have?

You can only be on a good basis with one faction throughout the city: Court of Blades, Truth, or Coin. By doing all three factions quests, you will get nowhere if you wish to choose a faction to side with, and may end up having to do extra work in the long run.

Raising faction with one Court lowers it with all the other Courts. Best you could hope to do is achieve a balance where you aren't ally but no one is chasing you out of the city.

Yeah you can only have good faction with 1 court heh...now if it was lowered factions for citizens of maj'dul then killing the orcs will increase that if i remember correctly

The best way to go is to get allied with one court, do all the quests until you get to the instance of that court. Then do the same for the other two courts.

After you've gained access to all the court instances, which takes a pretty long time though, you can then do a quest that will give you a boost so you can get two courts at allied and one at indifferent (just work a little on two courts just before finishing the final quest).

Getting at least one court at kindly is very interesting as this will open their court for you, giving you access to broker, bank and mender and a vendor that you can sell guild writ items to.

You can boost faction with the citizens of Maj'Dul, best check the site to see what mobs will do this, orcs are the best bet. Plenty of them though, if they attack on sight you are truly going to need a lot of them.

Actually I think you have to be considered an ally now. I just completed faction quest for court of Blades two weeks ago, and unless they've changed it since then, I was unable to enter the court until I was ally.

It's possible, it's been a while and I am still in the process of getting allied with the Court of Truth, my final one.

Another point of interest would be that you can buy bigger houses when you are allied with any one court. Or rather, you can buy the license to get a big house. Very interesting if you intend to betray as this house doesn't belong to any city you can betray from, meaning you don't lose access nor have to deal with the possible huge storage problem.

I live in Maj Dul right now, and have gotten the call of Ro. It's nice when one gate is down, you've got an extra one handy. Also, while the largest houses are only 3 rooms, they're very big rooms. I thought at first that a 3 room house would be small, but it's more than big enough for me, my husband, and our family of alts

Just got in the Court of Truth at kindly status, meaning +20.000. Good thing they didn't alter that, hard enough to get that much as it is. Quest givers for the status are erratic in giving their quests and I hate monopolising the other guards for their coins. Just makes me feel bad for those at lower lvl.
