A noob question. I was in the furniture shop in North Quenos. Lovely. I assume that one can eventually craft the furniture and accessories (candelabra, candles, lamps, etc). The diversity of rugs and painings caught my eye. At the first tier, I can do a rug and a portrait. But I don't want the same rug and portrait all over the place. To my suprise, the merchant in the furniture store didn't sell furnishings, only ingredients. My questions are:

1. Is there a place where one can buy finished furnishings? [I know the inkeeper has a few sconces]
2. Will one be able to craft a diversity of paintings eventually?
3. If one can only craft one type of rug/ painting per level, is there a way to obtain different subjects/ patterns?

You can no longer buy furniture from NPC's, it was removed a long long time ago because it was competing with crafters. However, there's LOTS of ways to get furniture items. The most obvious way is from a Carpenter (ask in your local crafting channel or check the broker). There are lots of recipes. Many small quests have furniture rewards and some stuff is available from City Merchants as guild status items (available with faction and status as your guild progresses in levels).

Every time I walk into someone's home I see some item I've never seen before. There's [link=null]lots[/link], lol. While we have a lot of furniture on our database, to see pictures of everything try http://eq2.eqtraders.com/, and you might try the Norrathian Homeshow at the Official Forums.

I think you were asking about different pictures before. I'm not sure what game you played before, but in Norrath each item has it's own individual recipe, rather than making "a painting" and applying a picture or something to it. Here are crafted paintings. Here's paintings from everseek, which has over 1100 house items listed.

I'm too slow, Calthine got here as I was posting :)

Check the broker, and the city merchants.

Not sure as I didn't go that route...but there are a variety of rugs and paints available on the broker...I assume it's all about the crafting level. I have a dozen or more paintings hanging on my walls that I have purchased. There are some "special" paintings that I have seen in other peoples homes that I have not found on the broker. When I examined the paintings to find out what they were, they were listed as "commissioned works" and I haven't really researched it to find out where they came from.

I believe you are limited to the stock pieces, and you get more options as you gain levels.
