I'm a level 11 Erudite trying to pick up lower level quests in other Freeport zones (level 5-7 quests). I learned the languages and the NPCs talk to me, but they don't offer their quests. Do quests become unavailable due to too high a level? Very frustrating running down NPCs & not getting ANY quests.

The quests may be race specific quests that are only given to the race for that beginer zone.

And if the quests are too low for your lvl you can mentor someone of the lower lvl to get quests and lower lvl quest drops.

I get race related quests. The question I need answered if I want to keep playing this game is whether quests become unavailable as the level rises. I've been playing for 3 hours and haven't found 1 NPC to give me their quests. I understand that quests turn gray and you don't get much xp, but I don't recall them simply becoming unavailable. Is this the case?

There are a few you can out level, but for the most part, you can go get them any time. My 65 Troubador grabbed a level 11 quest in South Qeynos the other day. What level are you and where are you looking?

I'm level 11 trying to pick up level 5-6 quests in other zones of Freeport. It seems crazy to me that the level difference would be too great at this early stage. The fact is that I spent 3 hours running down NPCs who have quests in other zones but couldn't get one quest!!! When I played Qeynos some years ago, I recall getting tons of quests all over the city starter zones. All you had to do was learn the language. If this is a Freeport problem, I may erase these characters and start over with Qeynos. I enjoy my Necromancer main and would prefer not to switch sides. Besides, I don't think there's a comparably strong solo class on the Qeynos side. At this point, I'm just frustrated and wondering if I'm crazy. Please help.

I don't know what to tell you. At L70 I can still get lowbie quests in Freeport if I haven't done them. The only ones that you can't get are the racial specific ones.

I can tell you that a lot of the neighborhood quest givers have moved their operations and are now hanging out in the n00b hunting zones around the city as opposed to inside the city. One example would be a gang that used to hang out on the lower level of Beggar's Court and give quests that had you killing things in The Sprawl. They are no longer in BC, but rather are hanging out by the gate to the Graveyard in Sunken City. Awhile back they moved the locations of a lot of quest givers like this.

I think your best bet is to start searching for quests in the n00b zones surrounding Freeport (Graveyard, Sprawl, Sunken City, Ruins) as that is where a lot of quest givers have been moved to.

Good thoughts and sound advice. Let me tell you why I'm frustrated. I'm not just wanting to pick up quests randomly. I'm systematically using Alli search engine to pull up all level 5 quests, all level 6 quests etc for every zone of Freeport, including the noob outer zones. I read the quest to see if its a racial quest or otherwise restricted. Then I trek all the way over to each zone, run down each NPC and see if I can get the quests that are listed. I can't get simple courier quests, rat killing, and other simple common stuff. This morning I kept trying, going to East and South Freeport, but still nobody would give me the quests listed by the search. You can't tell me that NPCs in the main city quadrants have a racial issue in their quests. Everybody ought to get them. Maybe other players don't think about it and just run up to whoever has the quest light on. But being somewhat obsessive about questing, it's killing me to get nothing that's listed by the search engine. I'm actually going to try to start a Quenos character and see if this pattern holds true with Quenos.

This is really strange. I've started 7+ characters in Freeport and i've never had issue with finding quests. Usually i get too many and out lvl them before i get around to them all.

But don't give up, the glory and power of the Overlord far overshadowes that welp Bayle. And Necro > Conj =)

Always remember. Evil will always triumph over good, because good is dumb.

Nope... it's just common sense.

Stupid goodies. Oh look i'm good, i pray to Tunare, i try to help others... Weakness, all of it is weakness, all will cower under the bruital hand of the Overlord.

MUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

*Ahem*

sorry, i get a little excited when the evil starts pumping in my veins.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll carry on and keep trying. I wish the Alli site for EQ2 would list whether the quest was racial, language, etc. It's mentioned sometimes in the text, but not usually. Even when it's mentioned that you have to know the language, the NPC still tells me to get lost. The WOW site for Alli lists what type of quest, prereqs, what the quest leads to, gives maps to the NPC, etc. Wish they had some of those features on their EQ2 site. Sorry, just a rant.

You might also try running arount with your map up. This way you will see if anyone is offering to give you a quest.

You know, they removed a lot of those old courier-style quests when they removed the class/subclass system, and it's entirely possible we still have them listed in our database. (It was before my time here and I only play goodie-goodies). In Qeynos, the ONLY place to get racial quests is in your starting villages (like Baubbleshire). If you're so inclined, make a note in the comments for the quests you think you should be able to get and can't, and we'll look into them and see if they still exist.
