Just wondering if this Ooze pet is any good. Its at the bottom of the necromancer tree for your pets. It just says its a ooze crawler that curses nearby enemies.

I currently have 18 points in that tree, so two more I will be allowed to get it.

from what i have gathered from other forums and experiences in raids, the ooze cube is a very nice debuffer, with some nice beneficial points for some classes like defilers and such...on the other hand, it is not recommended for every mob..it really depends on the mob, the resists that are debuffed, and certain other criteria...you cant go wrong with using your uber pets and spell rotation, but on my necro i invested in the ooze cube for when it is needed...
just my opinions on the matter :)

I was totally let down by this pet. For starters I didn't know it replaced my regular pet, I though it was along the lines of the Swarm of Rats or just another pet that would tag along and do nothing but debuff. Since it AE's that pretty much shoots it out of being useful for most any type of raids or grouping. I can't solo while using this pet since once again it AE;s and can't tank or do any DPS. Only 1 possible thing I would think it might be useful is battling a single raid mob when you are 100% sure nothing else will spawn around it. I didn't see what debuffs it actually did (I died to quickly from the adds) but I have found in most cases debuffs against a NPC don't generally amount to that much.

The pet does ALOT less DPS then my DPS pets, and it tanks about as well (if not worse) then my caster pet. All in all this is a complete waste IMO especially considering what you must do in order to get it.

At least I have a reset for my AA abilities. Any other necro's reading this Id avoid this skill. Oh as far as looks go it looks like a snail.

Actually debuffing does do a lot to a raid mob, for instance try killing one without anyone debuffing and see the difference it makes.

The point of this pet isn't to solo with..It is to provide an extra debuff in a raid situation. It could come in handy, it may not. Whether or not you decide to use it in raids is up to you.

so.... from a screenshot of the ooze crawler debuff on a mob, we have:

enemy spells resisted another 5%, radius by 15%.
riposte by 25%
haste and dps both by 10 each.
slows target by 20%.
decreases focus ordination piercing ranged slashing disruption crushing subjugation by 18.
combat arts miss 10 times more often.
combat arts and spells are 5% weaker.
double attack and the chance that a melee weapon will hit more than one person are both reduced 25%.

at the bottom of the screen is a *examine for more effects* item. said oozecrawler was not from a 70 nec as yet, willin to see what kinda debuffs (all of them, and if they've increased) from mine when i respec soon. hope this helps.

Sorry but wouldnt an AoE pet be really nice for farming low mobs especially in congest areas?

if all you do is solo. DO NOT get the ooze pet. even in groups its most likely not for you. but if you raid. its good to have at least one necro with it. Debuffs are key in many raids. keepin the mobs resists down and how hard he hits to a minimum generally ups the mortality rate of your raid force. every little bit helps with debuffs in a raid situation
