The other day I was meandering around on my monk when I came upon a quest. I've been doing a lot of them lately, so I couldnt even tell you which one it was, but at one point one of the choices of things I could say made me chuckle. It wasn't anything big but it reminded me of what is still my fondest memory of the game so far...

Last year I was in TT and I came across a high priest, I believe of Thule, but Im not 100%. All I remember was that he was BIG and RED, but not KOS. So being the curious monkey that I am, I went over and hailed him. He said he was recruiting for his God and did I have what it took to be a disciple. Up popped the choices I could pick. One was the obvious "Yes master I would do anyyythiiing" *drool and fawn*. One was the standard "Hell no! I'm a goody two shoes and I only worship flowers and rainbows!!!" But the middle choice, I had to click. There was no if's and's or buts. I had no choice. For the middle option said something along the lines of "Maybe. I can slaughter some cows and chickens for sacrifice."

Of course that was not the fawning answer he was looking for and a nano-second after I clicked that option I was dead. I dont even think the priest moved, he killed me so fast. And I sat there at my computer and roared with laughter for a good 15 minutes. After which it took me about 2 more hours to stop giggling every few minutes.

Ahhh good times. Whats your fondest memory?

I was running through Antonica as a lowbie Pali and I saw my first Dragon (don't know the name). There was a single group that was attempting to slay said Dragon, and I thought that I would move in a bit closer to check out the action. Well, the party wiped in 30 seconds or so, and the Dragon hadn't even broken a sweat. Yes, I had selected it so that I could watch the progress and I accidentally attacked, or I was too close and the Dragon saw me, not really sure. Regardless, I was dead, I thought I might be able to turn and run...it looked like he was a good distance away. "I just got eaten by a DRAGON" hahahehehehehahahah

I had a flash back of that moment at lvl 50 when I wandered into CT only to find Vox (think that's right) sitting there in the middle. I remember thinking...don't get to clos...DEAD. He saw me, and before I even turned around he was on me.

Great Fun

My fondest memory was way back in the day when I was still in Drow. We had been doing Spirits of the Lost for weeks trying to kill Venekor and it finally happened one night. Our Ventrilo server was full guild mates screaming and yelling due to our accomplishment. It was the closest the game ever came to EQlive raiding for me. Good times!

That's a tough one. I'm not sure if any single moment really stands out. Passing MOA4 was a trip because our raiding set had failed a half dozen times trying to get it done and when we finally pulled it off the relief was great. We all went and took group photos afterwards with our marks displayed. Good stuff.

Sad to say I cant think of the fonest memory Ive got of EQ2 because it just doesnt seem to be as epic as EverQuest 1. I enjoy playing the game, and its fun to raid, but no matter what I do to try and improve my overall pleasure within the game, it still deosnt match up to how I felt when my EQ1 raiding guild took down "The Rathe" for the very first time to get our Plane of Time Access durring the Planes of Power Expansion. That was a crazy encounter.

Sadly, EQ2 lacks strategic fights, and normally relies on DPS along to kill most/all mobs.

your got the mobs with adds. Youve got the mobs with timed AE's or/and adds. And youve got the mobs with %life AE's/adds.

Insted of making the raiding fun, they have made it less fun by causing crazy cure spamers out of our healers, raid DPS required to be above 25k to clean zones now.

I know im drifting off the topic of fondest memories, but really, out of the many happy memory Ive got in EQ2, Id say when I dinged level 30 on my SK before they nerfed the level 30 defensive stance that gave a skele illusion form, that was the best. It didnt matter that I couldnt ride a mount, I was a skele!

Probably going on my first raid ever in KoS. It was the Labs and I was able to loot 3 pieces of awesome upgrades because the guild that was doing it all had these drops. It was an invitation event. Probably will never happen again.

Most of the time, if I complete a quest or advance my main in some way, that qualifies for my fondest moment. I have a very short term memory.

You know, it's as others have said EQ2 is great fun but nothing really rocked my world like UO (first ever experience being ganked - then later returning the favor :0 ) or EQ1 (guild raids starting with Kurnak). However, having said that, environmentals - stage and setting, sounds and music, are just phenominal. I'm continually amazed how 'right' they've done that. ((well, ok up until the threat music came along ...shesh... lets go back to the drawing board: again! ))

My fondest memory of EQII is that one time when DSD came and totally pimped out my inn room.

I'm sorry I stopped playing right after that.

LOL! You should check out my crib now. I moved in to a swanky 3 room place in Maj Dul. Rooms are huge, and it just screams for skimpy, gauzy clothing to be worn.

I'm downloading the client right now. Have like 45 minutes to go.

I was really enjoying the game when I was playing it last year, but then Sony opened those damned progression servers and I went back to EQ for a bit. So I figures, now that Vanguard is basically circling the drain, I'm gonna give EQII another shot. Well, at least another seven days.

Edit: Oh, and you may have to loan me something skimpy and gauzy.

Are you serious? You're coming back to play??? I know we have a 3 hour time difference, but if you have any serious intentions of checking this out again, let me know. The cool thing about EQ2 is their mentoring system. I can mentor down to your level and play. And if you start to find yourself really enjoying it, and wish to see the end game in the future, I can chat with my guildies and see if you can join.

I'm really thinking of making it my game, so I'll be playing as much as possible in the next week here to see how I like it. I was really enjoying it last time but I was also playing on my old PC, which wasn't up to snuff. Now I've got this nice new rig which can run even the resource hog of a game Vanguard is on max settings, so I'm thinking it should do really well with EQII.

I don't want to get your hopes up too much, because I feel bad about last time with EQII and WoW earlier this year, but I'm hoping it'll be my new game, again.

I'll be in touch.Smiley: smile
