Brigand or Assassin?Follow

Hey, I just downloaded the 7 day free trial and am planning on playing EQ2 with my friend. I'm having a little bit of trouble deciding on my class. I have decided that I want to be a Scout, because I tend to enjoy the fast DPS classes. So far, from looking at skills and other posts, I've narrowed my choice to a Brigand or an Assassin. My friend, that I will be playing most of the game with, is going to be either a Fury or a Wizard.

Can anyone give me some pro's and con's of each of these classes. Also, which character would work better with either the Fury class or the Wizard class. If it helps, I do enjoy hitting big numbers out of stealth, but I do want to be able to hold my own outside of stealth as well. I just quit playing WoW, and I HATED how, if specced for ambush, my rogue couldn't do anything if my ambush didn't one shot the mob/player.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I've played both and they both have advantages. Assassins do massive damage with just one hit, but their skills have long recharge times. Brigands do really fast damage and they have plenty of debuffs. My main is a Brigand and I love playing him. In your 50's you get a really nice debuff spell that, if you have the master version of it, decreases physical mitigation of a target by over 1000. Couple that with stuns, backstabs, and poisons and your opponent can't do very much.

Assuming that you'll be duoing with your caster friend most of the time, you'll be facing the front of the enemy a lot. In this case I would go with a brigand. Try them both out and play them into their 20's to see which one you like better. Just remember to have fun with it.
