Difference Between EverQuest 2 and EverQuest 2 Classic?Follow

#1 Jul 15 2007 at 12:03 PM Rating: Decent
What is the difference between these two items:

http://www.gamestop.com/product.as...5Fid=646703
EverQuest 2 Classic

and

http://www.gamestop.com/product.as...Fid=D000089
EverQuest 2

I realize one is a direct to drive download and the other is not. The classic is far cheaper, and comes with a manual.

Before I do something stupid, I want to know more.

Thanks!

>< The links dont work ><

I think if you get the retail box, you'll get a free month of play. However i dont think that is included in the download.
However, i wouldnt recommend Either one of those. Get the Echoes of Faydwer Expansion Retail box, which is by far the best deal. you get a free month and you get all the expansions.($40 USD)

I probably wouldnt enjoy the game as much as i do if i didnt start in Faydwer, i really liked it myself.

Yeah, just noticed the links do not work.

I looked up the expansion and it says this:

You must have the full version of Everquest II and an active online account to play.

Does this mean I buy Everquest 2 AND the expansion?

Ahh...nvm, I found there are two different versions of the expansion.

Now to see if one is local.

My daughter and her husband want my wife and I to play, so we can have quality family time together. We used to both (my daughter and I) play FFXI, and it was great fun partying together.

They live in another state, so this could be a great way to spend a LOT of time together! :)

If you can't find it local, and don't mind a very long download, you can get it online: http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/news_archive_content.vm?id=1212&section=News&locale=en_US

I bought the expansion and it included the full game and all the expansions. It is the best way to go. Desert of Flame and Kingdom of Sky won't do you much good till 40+, however being able to earn AA point at level 10 is worth it right there.

Echo's of Faydwer however it usable from level 1 if you should decide to make a Fairy.

Direct2drive.com has EOF complete, which has EQ2 + DoF + KoS + EoF. Basically the original game and the expansions for 40 bucks. If you find EoF retail box in a store it is much the same it has the original eq2 and all the expansions, you can find in stores for cheaper or pay 40$ for it off Amazon.com and get it shipped in 3-5 business days.

The SOE store kind of sucks because EoF there is JUST the expansion, doesnt include the original game or any of the other expansions.

EQ2 classic is 10 bucks and you get EQ2 original game. No expansions, no adventure packs. Cheap way to test out the game but you won't be accessing the expansions, and EoF has a lot of 1-70 content and you will want the expansions starting at lvl 10/20 so you can get EOF and KOS AA's.
