I think they have Nerfed my AA'sFollow

Ok. This is either a very bad bug or a trecherous nerfjob on the AA skills tree. I am a Human monk and chose to go primarily with AGI to start with (I was restricted to using a baton in my primary slot for this). On the AGI tree you get a skill called "Baton Flurry" which allows you to speed up your recovery time and slow down your opponents, as well as dealing a modest amount of damage in the strike if it is maxxed. Once I finished the AGI line I started on the STA line because it gives a special range attack, and Monks do not get any special range attacks as a regular part of thier skill advancement. The range attack was called "Mantis Star" and dealt a modest amount of damage as well as draining your opponents Stamina by a small degree. With these 2 skills I could pull using the Mantis Star and then use Baton Flurry once melee combat was joined. I did this for a long time. NOW for the 1st time I find on logging in that if I pull using Mantis Star it drops my Baton Flurry ability and starts the re-use timer on it!! So effectivly it eliminates my ability to use the 2 within the context of one battle. (note: if the combat lasts more than the 30 second timer I guess I could use the Baton Flurry, but PLEASE what good would it do by that time?) Now it seems I'm going to have to drop Mantis Star and just pull using the only other skill that saves the use of Baton Flurry...the basic "Range" button. As well it seems like I will have to totally re-arrange my AA's to where I can get a usable benefit from them. I only hope they havent Nerfed ALL the AA's so that any AA Combo will now no longer work. IF that is the case there should be a public outcry...why even do them if they are of no use together?

I don't think its a bug, it is working the way they intended when they tweaked the AA system to get rid of the weapon requirements. But I don't think they had fully considered the effect on the ranged aspect of your AA line. So it may be an unintentional nerf.

Prior to the AA change, all the AA lines (at least for melee toons) were based on a specific weapon/shield. So in essence if you had AA lines with two different weapon requirements, the attack on one of those lines would be useless unless you constantaly switched out weapons during combat. After the change they dropped the weapon requirements so you would be free to use whichever skill you want, but the tradeoff was that those attack skills were put all on the same recharge timer.

I wonder if the shield skill timers are on the same recharge as the weapon skill timers.

I would suggest posting your issue on the SOE forums and maybe submitting an in-game bug report. The more voices they hear, the more likely they will be to fix your AA line back to the way that made the game more enjoyable for you.
