Good morning, AllaK's - 7/13/07Follow

Good morning, happy campers.

Well my birthday came and went and I didn't receive a single gift package from any of you. My disappointment knows no bound.

Didn't log in yesterday. I'm having my house resided and my wife decided that it would be a good night to go out shopping for new window shutters. EXCITEMENT! Got home, checked my mail and went a killin' in Resident Evil 4. Man that's a good game. And the Wii controls for it are stellar.

As always in lieu of an in-game update - a discussion question for the class: What new type of product would you like your preferred tradeskill profession to be able to make if you had the chance to nominate a new item? Would you want your weaponsmith to be able to make a mace? Would you like your carpenter to be able to craft a medieval rack? How about your provisioner cranking out some waffles? Tired of spells? Maybe your sage can create books with customized text for folks visiting your home to read. There are endless possibilities. Let's hear what you'd think would be neat to be able to craft.

Personally for me I think it would for my weaponsmith to be able to craft specific-slot weapon attachments for armor pieces that enhance combat arts. For example, a boot-knife that adds X damage to any "kick" combat art or a shield-spike that adds X damage to any of the shield bash line of combat arts that fighters have. Similar to adornments except that they aren't magical in nature. They don't enhance the player, but rather they enhance specific combat arts related to the piece of armor "adorned".

What are your ideas and how was your evening?

Oh, that's easy. Instruments. Not the onces we made at launch, or the ones that almost made it in with Neriak, but real equipable instruments that bards woucl use as weapons or charms or somesuch.

We were having Fun With Computers yesterday. We've been wanting to get our Mini-DV video to the computer 'cause hubby happens to be pretty good at making movies with FRAPS and stuff, and so I finally got off my hiney and got the firewire kit for him. Then I pulled out the second hard drive I *never* use and gave it to him so he'd have room to work on the vids.

He installs boots it up, and BSoD! Video freaking out all over the place! Eventually we swap video cards (our boxes are really close in technology just so we can do that) and sure 'nuff, the video card took a crap. So my little $30 prezzie ended up costing us about $230.... and we could get the card we wanted 'cause our older sysboards don't have PCI express. *sigh*

I got his old secondary hard drive, which I had to reformat from a DOS prompt; not hard but holy Tunare it's been a long time since I've seen a DOS prompt! Now I have that drive unplugged 'cause it's overloading my power supply. I need to sort through the rails and see if it's possible to not buy a new power supply.

So, I logged on LATE, did one order, and went to bed, lol.

Carpenter wish list:

1.) Coffins - many possible buffs or benefits associated with this one.
A.) Possible Rezz effects dispeller
B.) Charges 5/5 for a Rezz spell
C.) Experience debt dispeller (not really all that great)
D.) Guild emblems on the lid - Make great pictures on Raid wipes!
E.) Or simply furniture for a room - Necromancers would love em'

2.) Display cases for various weapons/armor that we can no longer use due to outgrowing them.

3.) The ability to "study" various pieces of furniture in dungeons and replicate these back home for furniture sales. Possibly a furniture quest?

4.) Master & Fabled chest recipe - and the ability to place them in zones to play tricks on people!!! OMG!!! A master chest just dropped off a rat!!! Maybe the ability to put crap in it like a rusty sword. Priceless.

5.) Wooden statues of various mobs in the game. Though thats more of a woodworker thingy...
