Master II skills questions (repost from war forums)Follow

Hey I'm a new player on vox and I just got the opton for my first master II spell as a gnome bruiser. I checked into the abilities and I see some repeat. There are upper level spells which do the same thing as my lower level ones. If I make Dodge and Strike (agi/str boost buff) a master II then will the similar upper level abilities overwrite it and make it a wasted upgrade? Also do all upper level bffs overwrite lower level ones of the same type?

I'm also unfamiliar with achievement points. Do I need a certain expansion to get them?

Thats a nice website for all the class skills and it shows what skills replace your earlier skills. The bold skills indicate a Master II choice. You get to choose a Master II skill every 10 lvls starting at (I think) lvl 14.

If you choose Dodge and Strike, it will NOT make your next replacement skill (Bob and Weave at lvl 26) Master II as well, your free lvl provided replacement skills are always given to you as Apprentice I. However; the Dodge and Strike Master II will still probably be better than your Apprentice I Bob and Weave. You will probably have to upgrade to Adept I or Adept III to make Bob and Weave better than a Master II Dodge and Strike. Keep in mind that while Dodge and Strike and Bob and Weave are seperate skills, they use the same recast timer; so you can only use one or the other.

As for the AA, those are "unlocked" with the Kingom of Sky and Echoes of Faydwer expansions. Each expansion has its own AA tree. You can start playing with AA at lvl 10 if you have one or both expansions.

All of your skills will eventually be upgraded as you level. In fact, many of them will be upgraded several times. Don't worry about it because you will eventually be able to find Master versions of the higher level skills as well. So just select for your Master II choice whatever option it gives you that hooks you up with the greatest benefit right now.

and... over the life of your character's career you'll be able to 'respec' your skills to fit the current conditions. Seriously, it's all win-win; do what feels right now and you'll learn over time if it works out best for you later :)
