Ok, so I installed and downloaded EQ2 on my home computer. Today, I am trying to install onto my laptop, and have completed the installation. When I open up the launcher, and it starts to download the patches. When it gets to the end, it will say download cancelled, even though I did not cancel it. I tried doing it a few more times, with the same results. ANyone know why this is happening? Could it be because I do not have enough RAM? Thanks, I would really like to figure out why this is happening.

I'm not sure on if it's a RAM issue or not, but my laptop has 2gigs and i've never had a problem.

A potential work around would be if the computers are networked, transfer the contents of the eq2 folder on your desktop (assuming it's up to date) to the laptop to avoid patching the laptop.

It may work, just a thought.

One thing I have heard but have no experience with is that laptops which share memory between their system and video often have issues unless they have scads of RAM.

If you are using Windows Vista on your laptop make sure you are launching the Patcher under Administrator. Right click the icon and choose Run as Administrator.

I had the same problem when I made the conversion from XP to Vista... ended up turning off the UAC to stop it from interfering with installations.

If you're getting that problem under Windows XP then I have no idea what to tell you. It won't have anything to do with RAM... the patcher itself requires very little RAM to run.
