We'll have to get someone more geeky in here. 1MB of RAM is the player-recommended minimum for EQ2, but that's in addition to video memory. It's been recommended to me to not play the game on a system where the video shares the system memory.

Anyone? I'm out of my depth.

guess im not gunan be playign this, i just dont have much money to put a grand into a laptop to play it, i think games for pc need to be redifined w/ system requirements, they need to tell yah what WILL make it run pretty smooth instead of the bare min where it just plays liek pure **** and ur left pissed off and disapointed....

Everyone ive known who tried a laptop has had trouble of one kind or another ..i know that even with 1 gig of memeory and not shared 252 video i still cant run it all out and have to use the balanced settings ... is an awesome game tho and i played old eq1 for 7 years .. the graphics are much better in eq2 even on lower settings/

Lorneye

Another problem is that most people have to turn OFF all virus protection and timed event timers ( such as downloading lastest patches while playing ) ..good luck

I have a dell laptop with 2gig of ram and a 256mb Nvida card in it. It runs flawlessly and looks great. Of course i paid *more* than a grand for it. My desktop has 1.5g of ram and a 256 nVida and it runs a little slower with same graphics.

What this means? in my lowly opinion RAM is king with this game, both system and graphic. I would say 2gig of system RAM is prolly more of a requirement than a recommendation, esp if you want to raid.
